I'm thinking about buying these and was curious if anyone who owns them has had any problems with the vinyl overlays peeling. I know they suggest that you use the CoolTape on the underside of the covers, but I know if gets quite hot under the hood and didn't know how well the vinyl would stand up to those temps.

Thanks...

:hmm: which FRC's?

StealthV's don't have any issues like that!

I'm searching the forum for FRC options and find this 2+ year old post without an answer.

So Craig, how did they hold up?

Anyone else have experience with these afterthoughtsauto FRCs?

Just be prepared to wait on them. I placed an order for them back in late June and after 3 weeks they still had not begun the order or charged my C.C. So I e-mailed them and asked them to cancel the order. (which they did) As long as you're in no hurry to get them, it will probably be every bit of 8+weeks.

I got some C5 FRCs off eBay and covered the Corvette lettering with the door sill plates from an SRX. BigJimSho is still green with envy.

I purchased a set but did not use them, as added the S/C and did not feel like cutting them up. IIRC the price from After Thoughts almost doubles from base advertised price when you add dual V logos, raised lettering, two rolls of tape and the shipping costs. Another option is the carbon fiber valve covers, just Google it and you will find many vendors.

I'm still waiting on my FRCs from Afterthoughtauto to come in. Be aware that it takes a long time between ordering and receiving. They should look real nice but the waiting...

I think that's because they have a guy who makes them on the side. They're hand made so it takes a while I guess. I've seen these on other forums and they are pretty nice.

Brousing the site... came across these. Pretty cool! No logo so could go on the V with some custom alterations to teh numbers. I think I see one of these on my dash somewhere real soon.

Kinda nifty idea, I guess. I'd go to a local trophy shop to get it done though- no waiting for shipping, and you could discuss exactly what you want and pick out a finish from their showroom.
