View Full Version : Bentley GT KILL....

Afternoon boys and girls,...hope all is well.

I just thought you all may be interested in my first kill behind the wheel of a CTS-V.

Here I am, in a 2005 Black Raven, supercharged(maggie), B&B long tubes freshly de-cated, corsa exhaust, tune, lingenfelter CAI, eibach springs, CCW's, and a fresh Katech billet shifter that I had just installed. The car happens to be my friend Marco's, who came in for the shifter, and a check engine light at WOT(wide open throttle) after 4500rpm. ENded up being a loose intake pipe, no big deal. Fixed the problem, cleared the code, installed the shifter......

.......which brings me to the road test. Now Marco, told me the day before to ..."drive the car hard!!...just do whatever it takes to make sure it's ok, I trust you bro." So, ofcourse like a good friend, I do just that:lildevil: .
.....so I leave the dealer, go down the road about a block, make a right hand turn,...and BAM, I see a baby blue Bentley Continental GT makeing a U turn right in front of me,...so I follow.

He makes a right, I made a right, and I go to pass him, maggie screaming in second gear.....he was on the phone when I passed him. I slowed down, the gentleman pulled up alongside me, no longer on the phone, and smileing from ear to ear.

I rolled the window down as we rolled to a stop light and traffic,...he asked me right away if it was supercharged, ofcourse I told him the mods, and dyno numbers,....he seemed impressed, and asked me if I knew about his car,...the first thing that came out of my mouth was "hell yeah, thats a bad B*tch!" He's like " yup, 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, 500 something ft-lbs, 500 something HP, 5200lbs, twin turbo V-12, and 210mph top speed."

I'm not 100% sure about his top speed but, everything else seemed right....then he says, as traffic is now gone in front of us, since the light had been green for 20 seconds....he says,.." lets see how they do against eachother....

I was like .."lets do it" . Bentley dude says " as soon as we get to the WHITE LINE at the LIGHT, GO,...ok, white line, go!"

No problem....so, from a 15mph roll, traffic is non-existent for about 100 yards,.....we get to the white line, and it was a perfect start, we both punched it at exactly the same time,...the supercharged V instantly pulled about 8 inches roughly in front of the Bentley, I banged second gear(not a powershift but I only lifted off about 20%) and then I pulled about another foot on the car, now looking at the fender and the grill of the GT,...then I banged third gear, and pulled another foot on the car,....at that time I was doing roughly 90ish MPH, and it was time to slow down,....

You'll all be happy to know the Bentley never gained ANY ground on the supercharged V. Granted, I was shifteing quick but, still, it was a perfect race. The gentleman in the GT gave me a thumbs up, and honked the horn.....cool dude, good sport.

At this time, my legs were shakeing, and I was more then thrilled to take out the Bentley, especially since it was my first real race behind the wheel of the V.

I was soo excited, I called Marco, the owner of the car, and told him what happened....he said and I quote...." NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!! HELL YEAH!!!!"

Gotta give that man credit for allowing me to do this in his car....one cool dude.

We may go to the track this week, if it ever stops raining, and see what it can do in the quarter. He's probably gonna drive, and i'll take a spin down the track.

You should all know wheel hop really wasn't an issue.....I mean I feathered the clutch in first gear for a split second but, the car didn't spin more then a foot(CCW's with pirelli P-zero 285/35/19's), hit second and wheel hopped for maybe a foot, two bounces, I never lifted, spun for maybe three to five feet, hit third, hopped once, spun about a foot. I did not powershift(flatshift).

Anyways, awesome kill, and what a rush!!! Have fun guys, see you around.

Awsome kill!

BTW the Bently has a W-12 (not V). Here are some specs on the car (http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/spy_reports/1271281.html).

Thanks for the info brother,..

The kill was awesome...what a rush. The guy in the car looked like a ball player(football)....was super cool but, he had to go home that night and replay that over and over again in his head,...how a 50k caddy took him out...awesome!

That's a great kill, it really puts some perspective on how much bang for the buck the V is.

There is no shame in getting beat by a supercharged V!

Bottom line the guy still went home in a Bentley, not a bad way to lose.

The supercharged V should pull on the Bentley GT much more than that. My buddy just got the GT and I drove it around, seemed fast but not faster than my V (non-sc'd). A supercharged V with a decent tune should have about the same HP numbers, more torque, AND weigh 1400 pounds less than the GT. Hmmmm... Can't wait to supercharge mine!!!!! Awesome kill!!!!!

V series tech,
That rim/tire package your using fits without rubbing fenderwells? No mods to fit it?

First off, the online pics, don't do these wheels justice....

second, to answer your question brother,...the car does NOT RUB at any location. Perfect. No modifications. This car is lowered as well, with eibach springs.

I'd like to know the same, because I'm planning on sending my 19's back into Makaveli to have them widened to 10" in the rear for a 285 35 19 BFG KDW.

285/35/19 with the CCW offset, works perfectly. It may be possible, to fit 295's under the car. I do see why it wouldn't work but, you guys may want to stick with what we know works,...I'm just speculating.

No problem Art. I'll get with my manager, and make sure we get you a good price. Doug Levin is a cool dude,...i've talked to him numerous times,..and while I was in school, he kinda offered me a job. He builds some fast rides. I give that man credit. I'll PM you tomorrow, and i'll see if I can arrange for you to take a ride in a maggied CTS-V asap.

Thanks for your interest. I will contact you tomorrow.

That may be a good assumption.

But if you remember, or if you saw the post about a month ago,...we put out a special price, for our first customer that wanted to buy the whole package,...half off on labor. All parts at our cost, plus ten percent. The kid got a deal...

Those 6 vents ARE open.

they have a stainless grill kinda like our frontend.

I donno if how it would look on platinum though...

Black cars need the extra vents since they get so hot, hence are slower.

Ok, gotta ask, what SHOCKS are used with the Eibachs on this car?

Dannystang -

The vents are to slow the black cars down to the speed of platinum...added drag :histeric:

i would also think that a supercharged V would beat a bentley gt more handily than that. i am pretty sure an e55 would destroy a bentley gt bentley and i am pretty sure a supercharged V would give an E55 (stock) all it wanted and maybe a tad more. also if i remember the specs right on an bentley gt it don't think it was much faster than a stock V down the quarter?

Thanks V-Series Tech for fueling me to get the Maggie. I've been posting up here and there how disappointed I am about the problems with the rear diff and some of the other gremlins in the car. However, I came to the conclusion, all cars have some gremlins.

Also, after considering to get rid of the V, I realized there is nothing out there in the V's price range that can deliver what the V does. So........Wednesday I get a fat check from the sale of a car. I will be contacting my local dealer for a good price on the Maggie + installation.

Something else fueling me to get the Maggie is my local neighbor around the corner. Since I've been going to the local dealer, the service writer has been telling me that my neighbor has been planning to "Put one up on me." So happens he just did. He just did exhaust. Well, now I'm gonna go one up on him.;)

Velose -

You won't regret it. I just added B&B headers to the Maggie over the weekend...bring on that Bentley GT (or ANY GT for that matter, as long as it carries 3 or more passengers!).

It is a cool kill story. Just imagine how many kill stories you'll have to tell us about once that Maggie is on board :drinker

By the way, V-seriesTech - glad to hear you were driving one of the faster (black) V's

Vents are very functional,.....releaves alot of heat from underneath your hoods.

I will tell you also, you have to stay one up on cleaning though, ...in other words, you'll have a little bit more road dust underneath. Nothing a quick run by with a rag can't handle but,..just so you know.

No problem brother,...I highly recommend the blower. Performance per dollar, you really can't beat it. Grab yourself a cold air kit to go with it,...as well as a good exhaust system(more air in,....gotta get all the air out..)

Have fun brother, and enjoy your ride! Make sure you take out your neighbor!:lildevil:

If Chris Tucker was trying to get away, why was he only going 109MPH?
Chris Tucker Pleads Guilty To Speeding
13 May 2005 (WENN) (http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/2005-05-13#celeb6)
Rush Hour (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120812/) star Chris Tucker (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000676/) has pleaded guilty to speeding and eluding police during a brief car chase last month. The 32-year-old comedian told authorities that he didn't hear their sirens because he was on his way to church. Tucker entered the pleas on Tuesday in Georgia's Warren County Probate Court and paid a fine of $6,999, according to court clerk Jeremy Moore. Tucker was driving a Bentley at 109 miles-per-hour on a stretch of road with a 70-miles-per-hour speed limit on April 17 when Georgia State Patrol troopers attempted to pull him over, says Moore. The pursuit lasted for about 10 miles before Atlanta native Tucker stopped, according to Moore. The star later told police he was traveling from Atlanta to Columbia, South Carolina, to go to church.

'Rush Hour' Star Tucker Busted for Speeding
20 April 2005 (WENN) (http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/2005-04-20#celeb2)
Rush Hour (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120812/) star Chris Tucker (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000676/) was arrested and jailed on Sunday morning, after Georgia police caught him speeding. Law enforcers pulled over the comedian's speeding 2005 Bentley when he did not immediately stop for them. Tucker, 33, spent about 30 minutes in the Warren County lock-up before posting a cash bond and being released, according to The Smoking Gun. Police say the screen star, an Atlanta native, was doing 109 miles per hour on Interstate 20 when pulled over by state troopers. He was arrested for reckless driving and fleeing to elude after he did not pull over right away.
