View Full Version : Cleveland IRL V get together photos. Florian 06-05-05, 11:47 PM Apparantly black is the favorite color.....http://www.uberformance.com/photos/sp_index.php?dir=./CTS%20V%20outing
Thanks to all that attended. The photo from Mallett in front of the trailer is missing, when I get that off the camera, I will post.
Florian Hmmm, only 2 of the fast ones were there huh?
Hope all had a good time, our V was in Detroit, not making many sales by the way.
Hopefully I can make the next one!!! PneuBird 06-06-05, 04:55 AM I especially like that "V" with the black powdercoated wheels.....ha ha ha !!! Great tour of the Corsa and Mallet facilities. Jim Browning and Chuck Mallet deserve lots of thanks for taking time out of their busy weekend to show us how it all works. :worship: I had no idea that it took that much trial and error to make an efficient exhaust system. And if I ever need an engine built, it's going to be thru Mallet. Their attention to detail, quality parts, and professionalism cannot be beat. Chuck really had some great kill stories for us and I really enjoyed seeing all the "V" 's getting the Mallet touch. Great meeting all you folks and hope we can do it again soon!!! :2thumbs: First of all I'd like to say that it was really NICE meeting everyone and putting faces to the Names on the Website!!! It was also an "HONOR" to be the TOKEN Female and the guys were VERY RESPECTFUL to me and I do APPRECIATE that. The Silver "V"'s looked very NICE and of course Black is BEAUTIFUL!!!
NOW I must talk my Husband into getting a MALLETT Package!!!!
Ginnie I've been debating on wheels......thought about chrome plating the OEM's....but saw these black powder coated ones.....(My V is also black) and really like the look.....where did you have these done/and cost?:yup: PH: 248+613+9000. Thanks. Harley Guy 06-06-05, 08:22 AM This was a great trip. It was nice to put faces with some of the on-line personas. Jim Browning gave us a great tour of the Corsa facility and a somewhat techie explanation of how their exhaust systems work. The trip to Mallett was like at trip to the candy store. The Mallett family spent 2 to 3 hours with us showing their facility and all the great stuff they build. They are the real deal. If you want serious performance that is totally balanced they are the ones.
Again, it was great to meet everyone. Even if I did get my a** kicked by a very tweaked Toyota Supra on the way back to Pittsburgh. Not sure what he had in that thing but it eat me in two roll on runs from about 75 to 120. Now…. How much did Chuck Mallett say it would cost for that 427 set-up? :sneaky: Thanks to Florian for setting up a great day. I met a lot of good people with common interests. Thanks to Jim Browning and Chuck Mallet for spending time with us. Look forward to the next meeting! 2004ctsv 06-06-05, 11:37 PM Let's definitely do something like this again. Maybe we'll even get someone besides me who will DRINK A BEER :drinker at lunch.
It would be great if we can set up a group dyno just to compare numbers. Chuck Sr said he has seen some cars with rear end mis-alignments that ate up 15-20 hp.
If there was enough interest, I would talk with Strope's in Washington, PA (intersection of I-70 & I-79). They aren't Mallett but still a nice little performance shop.
Tony It was a great time. Kudos to Florian for setting it up, and double Kudos to Jim Browning and the Mallet crew for giving us so much of their time on a Saturday afternoon.
It was great to hear the story of two great companies from the people who have made it happen. Those are two quality operations. I already have my Corsa. Next comes the Mallett V. For those who have never had the pleasure of hearing a 427 Mallett V, all I can say is "Wow!"
It was a great afternoon. Maybe we can get an East Coast Meet at one of the Carlisle events or some other major car show. It was good to put faces to the screen names.
Carl Florian, I am trying to get ahold of Jim Browning, Jr. to get a phone number of I dealer that he knows so I can ORDER a CORSA Exhaust System for MY "V". Any HELP would be APPRECIATED.
Much Thanks,
Ginnie Florian 06-07-05, 05:19 PM Ginnie,

Florian Florian 06-07-05, 05:21 PM Ginnie,
Forgot to tell you that Morris Caddy in N Ridgeville installs Corsa. Also, its a SIMPLE install (about 30 minutes) and if you have access to a lift, Id do it for you, piece of cake.

It is an easy job. The "magic" tool was a piece of 2X6 to set the resonators square. It will take little more than 30 minutes to get everything lined up right and snugged up the first time. Then go for a nice spirited drive to warm everything up and then return to garage to re-torque.
You know, I keep reading this damned Mallet ad. 450 hp & 450 ft-lbs sounds great but the price tag floors me. And I'm amazed that they have people lining up to pay it.
Tony I was "READY" to write a Check for the 60% Down---BUT---the $16,500 price tag also Floored my Husband.
Ginnie msheri01 06-11-05, 02:47 PM I am glad to hear you all had a great time. I ended up spending the weekend and past week in West Virginia helping out while my friend buried her fourteen year old son.
