: Kicking coolant out the overflow hose on the surge tank

`98 DeVille with 4.6 Northstar engine. After fixing a thermostat leak, I find that the coolant is being kicked out of the overflow hose on the surge tank. What would cause this?

By the way, the car doesn't overheat prior to this happening. It runs steady between 196 and 210 degrees, with a mix of 45mph and stoplight driving.

I would recommend making sure that the bottom hose is not clogged, also try replacing the cap, since if it does not hold the pressure it's designed to, the system would boil prematurely causing the overflow.
