Waht is the best plugs and oil to use when doing a tune up?
I was thinking NGK and Royal Purple does that sound good or is there a better combo
General consensus is stick with OEM plugs. A/C Delco 41-950.
Best oil? Oil wars have been started over that :want:All I can say is I have never heard of an oil related engine failure because of using one brand or the other. Everyone has his personal preference and that is the best. You won't do any damage by not using the "Best"........ whatever that may be :hmm:

thanks for the info. I heard NGK had better spark but they went out faster than others
From everything I have read on this site and Caddyinfo, the Northstar seems to be rather finicky when it comes to plugs and wires. If they don't have dual platinum tips they definately will not last as long.
Stick with the AC-Delco 41-950's!!! You're not guaranteed a problem with them, but I've heard too many other problems begin with them and end as soon as the Delcos are put in to risk it myself...the Delco's are actually a buck or two cheaper than some of the other plugs supposedly for this motor...Oil, use whatever you normally use, but Royal Purple might just be overkill...it takes 7 1/2 quarts, and you really don't need anything that fancy...a good 5w-30 or 10w-30 will work great, synthetic or not, although even that, I think, is a waste of money. Like Ranger said, wars have started over this topic though, so if you want to read up on it a LOT, just search through this forum and you'll find pages and pages of threads about it. :) Good luck!
