View Full Version : STS-Blue Chip/Cashmere?????? harryctsv 06-04-05, 05:51 AM Hi, to you all
as some of you know I´m a german and want to replace my DTS with a new STS this month (here in germany).
I test drove a light plat. with ebony but I think my color would be the blue chip with cashmere interior. Does anyone of you got this combination?
If yes, can you please post some pics?
Thanks

Thanks
Harry agwondra 06-06-05, 08:54 AM  I have the Blue Chip and Cashmere combination, and the it is great:thumbsup: (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=76#). I felt the dark interiors would be too dark, so I choose the lighter color and am glad I did. harryctsv 06-06-05, 09:08 AM  I have the Blue Chip and Cashmere combination, and the it is great:thumbsup: (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=76#). Hi agwondra, do you have the V6 or V8?
Are you able to post some pics? would be nice!!!
Same as you I don`t like no black interior in any car.
Thanks
Harry agwondra 06-07-05, 08:44 AM I have the V6, still has plenty of get up an go. I'll see what I can do about the pics. harryctsv 06-07-05, 10:17 AM I have the V6, still has plenty of get up an go. I'll see what I can do about the pics.
Hi agwondra, I test drove last thursday a brand new STS V6 and I must say that this is the best V6 ever offered in an american car. Sure, the Northstar V8 like I got in my XLR is smoother especialy in the higher rpm ranges but this V6 runs good. As I sayd, it was brand new with 16 km on the odo but I took it for a short trip on the autobahn and the 200 kph (124 mph)did show up pretty fast. I didn`t floor it because it`s so new but I think after a good brake in this car will do around 240-250 kph`s (149 - 155 mph). I could buy this one, it is light platinum with black interior but I don`like the ebony int. Mine have to be blue chip with cashmere or maybe????? light gray interior.
Thanks
Harry agwondra 06-07-05, 10:18 PM I just posted a couple of pictures in the 'Images' :coolgleam section. I'm thinking of having the grill painted the Blue Chip body color - like the earlier versions of the STS. What do you think?
Harry,
You're lucky to have the Autobahn. Around here I drive with the cruise engaged so I don't attract too much unwanted attention as I would fly by the other slower traffic on the highways. I had an older Seville before this one, and it was extremly fast, but nothing compared to my new one. It is so much fun to drive, just wish there were a place to legally open it up and let it run.

Hi Al,
thanks for posting these pics, great!!! That`s the combo I´ll buy.
Now I have to wait till the first ones arrive here. Right now I could buy black/black - black/casmere - silver/black, but blue chip should be here soon, my dealer told me.
What do you think about a V grill?????? I think that`s what I take with home from the US while I´m for vacation in aug over there.

I think the V style grills are great. A little more than I want to put into a lease car though. This is why I was thinking of painting the grill the body color. It would add a slight distinction to the car, but not be terribly expensive. I don't know why Cadillac didn't paint the grills like they did in the older STS's (maybe a new feature for '06). The matte silver grill looks good on the Lt Platinum and the other Silver based colors, but it just isn't classy enough for the darker colors. It would have been better if they had decided on a full chrome grill rather than the matte finish. I have seen the Black/Cashmere and it too is very sharp, I just don't like black for the body color (personal preference). I hope you don't have to wait too long for the Blue Chip. The cars are so great to drive, it would be a shame to have to wait. harryctsv 06-08-05, 09:14 AM I think the V style grills are great. A little more than I want to put into a lease car though. Agwondra, waiting isn`t too bad, still got a DTS and XLR to drive.
What do you think about a pin stripe, maybe in silver or gold???
I even put one on in chrome on my XLR. I love it.
Harry agwondra 06-08-05, 04:55 PM Harry,
I'm not an afficionado of pin stripes, I prefer the clean lines of the car, but if you have to have one, I'd go with the gold because of the cashmere interior. If your XLR ever decides it needs to have a good home in the US.....

Hi Al, yes, pin stripes some like them some don`t.
I went a hour ago by my dealership and the can get me in 2-4 weeks a STS V6 in black raven/moonstone/blue chip, all with cashmere. Sounds good!!!!
But within 2 weeks they get the first V8 in, also in moonstone/cashmere, I´ll think let me see first this color and then I decide what I gona do.
My favorite is blue chip/casmere.
BTW I own a home in Cape Coral Fl. but have only 4-6 weeks each year to be there.
Have a nice day

Hi Al, these pics (two) are real good to see the contrast from outside/inside.
I´m sure you took some more pictures and if it`s not a problem for you can you post two more of the whole car????
I think I give next week the order to get me the blue chip/cashmere one which is now in Rotterdam (nl). They have right now about 20 STS`s over there to choose from.
Thanks
Harry agwondra 06-10-05, 08:39 AM Harry,
Yes, I have a couple of more of the whole car. I'll add them this evening.
Al davesdeville 06-10-05, 09:00 AM agwondra, nice car I love the color.
harry, what do you do for a living? :) harryctsv 06-10-05, 11:39 AM agwondra, nice car I love the color.

Hi Davesdeville,
about 60 hours of work each week and that`s OK. I own clothing-stores, so I spent many time on the autobahn by visiting several factorys, to have always the newest fashion.
For example, my XLR with top down I only can drive on sundays or holidays because when I´m out for business I used to go very fast and then my top is UP.
Thanks
Harry agwondra 06-12-05, 08:39 AM Harry,
I just added a 3/4 view of the entire car to the images. Been busy, and haven't had time to be on-line. Hope you were able to enjoy the XLR w/top down today. I have what I call a Minnesota convertible (moonroof). It is the only practical option here in winter.:yup:

Hi Al, thanks for the pic of your great looking car!!!! No top down today, it`s partly sunny but only 60° but I went already for a ride to my dealership. On friday they had the first V8 comming in, the moostone/cashmere fully equipped.
I like this color combination too but I´ll take the one you got.
He, minnesota convertible sounds funny harryctsv 06-12-05, 09:12 AM Hi Al, thanks for the pic of your great looking car!!!! Harry agwondra 06-13-05, 09:10 AM Harry,
In my younger days I had a couple of convertibles, but would freeze in the winter. Just no way to keep the cold and wind out.:helpless: So now I drive cars w/sunroofs. Not quite as cool as a convertible, but will let in the sun and air when the weather permits. Post a picture of yours when you get it. I would like to see the European version.
