:annoyed:When I first open my drivers door in my '88 seville, or get out of it with the keys in or out, doesn't matter. The door chime behind the glove box is absolutly unbearable. I really can't stand it. I would like to disconnect it without taking my dash out. I already have the glove box out but I can't quite find the box that houses the chime. Either I rip out the box if I could find it or tell me the wire to cut to stop the ringing. Any help would be helpful .

Check out your fuse boxes. There should be a fuse for your door chime and lighter.

ah the "yo grandpa, dont forget your freakin keys" chime...

I wish it only did it if I left the keys in it seems to say hey the door is open. It reminds me of a dog that thinks you are leaving it for good when your just going into the next room

I noticed if I wiggled the ignition a little that it would stop chiming.

Yeah, being that the wiring is so old, it probably has a short in it. Just look at your fuse box diagrams and look for the fuse that controls your chime function and remove it. You don't really need it.

If you find the chime box, you can open it up and remove the tunning fork looking part and it will not be as loud. That's what I did.

I think I found the box but I can't really get to it with any tools so I am going to have to go the fuse box route.
