 Just got back from MorePerformance in Charlotte, NC. They installed the Corsa exhaust and their MorePerformance Cold Air Intake (there is no whistling sound). In addition, they performed a PCM Tune. In all, Rear Wheel SAE HP increased from 314 to 354 (up 12.7%:yup: ) and torque increased from 310 to 348 cost was $2,000.

Test was on Dynojet at 670 feet above sea level, 78 degrees F.

Nice indeed. I do believe after a few bolt ons, A tune is vital..
I'm hopimg for another 20 HP more than yours, due to the additional mods I have. Once I get the tune.
It may surpass 20 but I would rather be pleasantly surprised!

ENJOY!

What are the normal base numbers for the V??????????? It seems like 310 would be a little low..........That is like 30% drive train lost.........

Approx. 20% drive train loss. 400HP x 20% = 80 HP, or 320 at the wheels.APPROX!

That is one of the highest drive train losses i've seen.... the cobra or the lightning don't have near that high of a loss.... doesn't do you any good to have 400 horse power and none of it gets to the wheels.... :bonkers:

No joke! I have a VW GTI VR6 as my commuter. It ran 170whp stock on the dyno. To the crank it's 201hp. That roughly equals a 15% drivetrain loss. However, this car is front wheel drive. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. Now after some pulleys, exhaust, chip, and cold air intake, it ran 186whp and 182lbs tq. As you can see it didn't gain as much hp as the V will with the same options but, the drivetrain loss is still less. Hmm........

Either way, I thought the V's were in the 350-360whp stock?

I thought the same thing............310 is not good, I don't care how you look at it. Now I know why it doesn't feel as strong as I thought it would :banghead: .....even thought I just got off a 135 MPH run.......it is missing the down low action.

There are a bunch of guys that dyno'd in the 340's. I guess it all depends which dyno you are on. I'm thinking the 310hp dynos have to be wrong. There is no way that GM could have lost that much hp going from a ZO6 to a CTS-V> Z06's dyno in the 350 range. I know according to my track times the HP calculator said 400. I know they are not an exact science, but running a 13.3 in a 4100# car you will need ever bit of that 400hp. Just can't be done 365.

I Got my stock V dynoed and the numbers were 337hp and 332torque on the first pull and the second pull it was 336 and 334 torque

That sounds a lot better than 310........Maybe we should have a sticky with stock Dyno and modded Dyno runs, so we can use this as which mods would get us the most HP and others could see what their V should make to the RWs. There are so many products out there and so many owners have bought different products......it would be nice to have this info in a data base to help us with our decisions.

314 hp and 310 tq doesn't sound right....also it seems like 40 hp is VERY high for only adding the corsa, caik, and tune....anyone agree??? If it's legit thats great! Seems like you would go from 340hp to 354hp, oh well just my thoughts!

Yes, someone else agrees.... that person being me. How many baseline runs? Best or worst of the baselines? How many post-mod runs? Best or worst of the post-mods? There to witness the whole thing, observing setup?

Dropped the car in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. Sounds great, runs great. Seems much more responsive to throttle input on low end.

Sticky thread with all the dyno charts would be awesome. Here's my contribution!

The car was completely stock with about 10k on the dial.

Conditions: 58.05F 28.70in-Hg Humidity:30% SAE:1.01.

Anyone else having issues with the MorePerformance CAI? I know I am and they won't respond to my emails regarding the issue (as of yet). The plastic tube on the K&N filter side of the intake is severely cut where it clamps to the MAF tube. Will MorePerformance replace a product that has this defect? And how do I get a hold of them to discuss it?

happens all the time, apparently they know about it but seem to not want to fix it.
Sorry.
PM StealthV for the FFV

Hi All, I've been lurking on the boards for awhile. I see some familiar faces from the Corvette forums from my C5 days. A friend and I had a baseline done this past weekend before we mod and I thought I'd share the info:

05' V 3300 miles
Stock, no mods
Dynojet 248x
Raleigh, NC
SAE corrected: RWHP 337.9 RWTQ 327

Of note, we noticed that the A/F was FAT, not dipping below 11. A tune will definitely help this situation. Mods on the list to come down the road: B&B headers and cat back, FFV, and custom tune. Will post updated numbers after mods.

My Friend brought an 05 GT0 w/ an LS2 and put down 344 RWHP 345 RWTQ, but it too had a fat A/F condition.

Cheers!

Interestingthat the GTO put down more power than the V since they have the same hp rating. I would expect the torque to be more because of the displacement.

Maybe More Performance didn't SAE correct the V's dyno run after the mods.
That would make it appaear to have gained 40hp when it really didn't.

I corrected the GTO RWHP number after confirming with my buddy and I added the RWTQ #'s. Of interest the first two pulls for the GTO had an A/F of 11 and the last pull after sitting under a fan for 20 min yielded the best RW#'s and the A/F approached 10. The V's best pull, which I posted, was still near an 11 A/F.

oh and apologies for a thread hijacking, back to our regularly scheduled programming :)

Maybe same Hp rating, but 05 Goat is LS2, that could be the difference.
