I know this code means VCC engagement problem. It is new on the my diagnostic as of about a week ago. What does this stand for or even mean? Is it serious? What should I do about it? Thanks in advance. P.S. This is an edit to the post. I just searched for it and found lots of info on the problem previously posted by bbob, I probably missed it, but what should I do to prevent the code, (not just clear it) and fix the problem?

Fixing VCC problem maybe costly... You can drive without VCC engagement which may result in 10-15% fuel economy drop.

I dont get how you can drive without it though? It was put there for a reason right? So why just let it go?

First thing to check is the electricals. Do a search "e39" to find information on how to diagnose.
If this is not the problem most likely, the transmission wil have to be removed from the car to fix it. There's a number of things that could be wrong including the torque converter itself, the valve body or lock up solenoid. If it is any one of these problems, the tranny will have to come out. On the other hand, mine has the same problem and I've driven it 35k miles since and it still works fine other than it burns a little more fuel. When it was working correctly, it would pull 29 mpg on the freeways. Now I'm lucky to get 23 mpg. I can rebuild these transmissions but right now it's not on my high priority list.
