I have a 1997 Deville with about 93,000 on it. It recently started running like it's not getting gas when I am in drive. In park the engine will rev up fine but in neutral and drive, when I give it gas it brings the rpms down insted of bringing them up. It started out just doing it once in a while but now it will hardly drive. It also seems to be worse when i am going uphill. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Fuel Pump.

Yeah, I'd put a fuel pressure guage on it and see what the fuel pressure does under those conditions.

I had the same problem on my 97 deville. I changed the fuel pressure regulator, about 60.00, you can even change it yourself, and mine is working fine now.

hey i gotta 91 deville and i was wondering what the fuel pressure should be? i appreciate any help. not sure if the pump or regulator is out...

45-50 psi as well as I can recall.
