anyone ever done it? please... no "thats just stupid, its illegal, too loud, not enough back pressure blah blah"
the things a show car, i'm goin for the gangster look.. i've got 20's on there, thinking about making 22's fit, i'm putting a 2-3" cowl on soon, got the clear tails, rear end up a little...
i'm just curious if anyone knows of another out there...

a guy in my town has it done on his, he just did a muffler delete and put a Y in
i must say, for taking the muffler completely off.. mine is a lot louder than his right now with the flowmaster on it (probably cause of the 3 inch cat and pipe)

oh, and reason: its not loud enough

dont get me wrong, the thing screeeams at WOT.. i've never heard a caddy like it, but
#1 i'm sick of being one of the quieter cars at the show, and
#2 i have heard quite a few different cars with it done and if you do it right its NOT as sloppy as you'd think

I've actually seen a cat-back dual pipe setup with dual mufflers and everything on a '93 Deville, but the car was in the bone yard. I was going to buy the exhaust system, but by the time I got there again, someone had already purchased the system.

My car just has the dual output Camaro system with no cat. It works out quite well.

id like to know more about the clear tailights ...that might be just the ticket for me with the LEDs .....

if your doing staight pipes you also should invest in a flame throwing exaust

haha funny you say that, the flamethrowers are in the works also

and about the tails, i started with the LED cluster lights... its nice because the light remains entirely clear when off (whereas if you use red bulbs you see blurry red dots)
But, those cluster LED bulbs that are supposed to work fine in place of 2057's...... they messed my relays allll up, i had turbo blinkers and that just aint cool

so now i have red 2057s , they illuminate better also because the LED was more of a beam... looked like a red flashlight up against a curtain er somthin / Will

i had the same "turbo turn signal" problem ....swap out the flasher unit with one from grote that was desgined for led systems

I was running around with no muffler on my car for a while. It was loud but after i got my flowmaster it sounded ALOT better. You could always go to like a 3 inch pipe and no cat, that would be pretty loud. Also, i wana see that cowl, i was gona do that to my Coupe, paint it all black with some chrome rims and my dual 3 inch tips with the car on bags. Oh well.

well just messin around today, i dropped the whole exhaust minus the headers..
first of all, straight headers was sick... theres a whole lot more sound to be found and now i know i definately want to run straight pipes with like a muffler casing welder over just so it looks legit
but i dropped it to hollow out the cat... not a huge difference... maybe a little more depth and a little more rasp at WOT, then again i've only went a few miles to get gas.. i'll get a better feel when i drive it more, i'll keep yall posted.. and i've got videos for whoever wants to see.. unless you know a good free host for some vids

i've got a flowmaster 40 series delta flow on my FWD 87 deville with the 4.1! i must say it sounds quite nice, and for a 4.1 is pretty quick also, i was thinking about straightnpipe but when i took off the muffler, it sounded loud, but not agressive, in other words it sounded kinda messy. I'm going to replace the cat wen i get my car back to my dads shop and we'll see wat difference that will make. i've posted a couple of sound clips of my muffler in the HT4100 section, coulpe of them aren't recorded very well.

Well, when you do it, make sure that if you have tailpipes that are not factory, make sure the tip is cut at an angle, this keeps the supersonic "hissssss" from going on at WOT. I hate that sound, it sounds cheap.

Some Borla or Flowmasters, or the new Edelbrock mufflers would sound awesome too....

I would like to see pics and video. I can setup hosting if you need, or gmail would be ideal

I know you want a loud system, but a good cheap set up is a Dynomax. I got one on mine. I just got a normal single outlet with a 3 or so inchchrome tip on it. It still has the resonator and cat intact. I'm sure if you remove/gut those it'd be alot louder...but for my tastes...it's nice. The idle is burbly, the low end is sorta like a Mustang 5.0, but the high end gets surpassed by the engine noise. I'm sure from behind the car it'd sound cool, but that freakin' amluminum engine is so loud. Again, my Dynomax muffler, tubing, and chrome pipe cost'd me like 160 installed. Obviously if you want dual exhaust you'd have to get the dual outlet muffler then another pipe and more tubing. That'd run you slightly over 200. But obviously you want loudness. So disregard all of this. lol.
