I have a 1986 deville that was in storage for 18 months. Last year in May I replaced the 4.1 with a 4.5 . Everything went well, the car drove like a charm. I drove back and forth to work for several months. I was driving on the highway when the car stopped pulling in drive, so I had to throw it in a lower gear to get home. I made it to the house jacked up the car drained the trans fluid, cleaned the pan and magnet , replaced the filter and gasket. started the car and tried to pull off, nothing. It would only move in reverse or d3. It would barely move in drive. So I changed the vaccum modulator. Now it will take off in drive and all other gears but will not shift gears to go faster than 35 miles an hour. I get ths roaring noise when driving at 5 to 10 miles an hour. Anybody has any ideas what the problem is. Could it be the engine? :( I guess since I have not recieved a reply that this means rebuild.

I am having trans problems with my 89. 1 and 2 work no noise just fine. but when 3 comes to try it nuetrals out any ideas?
