One web page said that the 1985 Seville HT4100 had a cast iron block & head? Is this true? If so, wouldn't the 1985 HT4100 motor avoid the problems that previous aluminum/cast iron ones had?

I think that is a mistake. FWIK, all 4.1, 4.5 and 4.9 engines had an Al. block.
