Notice the color :D :D Red V's are the fastest. :bouncy:

I am going to get a maggie this winter. Has anyone done the install themselves? Seems like it would be a fun project.

Hey Dan.

Did the install with the help of a friend.

You need someone to help lift it and position it.

Took three days. Body ached for five.

Magnuson instructions are very good.

Magnuson + Cadillac = Major HOOT

See what i mean.. thats it all in the nutshell... LUND did all my mods except headwork.. they did great install on my maggie and dyno..
Now since ive did another major change, last dyno shows 643 at flywheel hp, and 589 at rear wheel hp... i think it is more, atleast it feels more to me, cause i had 2 other older cars, a 69 gto, and a dodge challenger 1972 with 383 mag, both cars where 600hp, dodge was lil more.. and it feels almost identical in terms of pickup, light to light runs.. weird..

Im tellin you guys... just the B&B exhaust with maggie is enuff to make each of you nut... now if ya want nut 4 or 5 times in row.... yank your motor, punch it 30 over...modify your heads, put all your goodies back on... heh.. then call me ok... you will see what i mean...

I did my own install. It was fun but it's a lot of work. 2 full (really full) days. I didn't have any help placing the Maggie on the engine and would not do it alone again. Get a friend to help! I did call tech support with a couple of questions and the guys there were fantastic.

Haaaa I Get It!!!

I'm not convinced guys, for 6 Gs couldn't you find the same power N/A?

Also, can, or will, anyone share honest stats regarding improvements.

Maybe. But it wouldn't sound or look as cool, or be as simple

The HP addiction would still continue, and you'd probably start chimpin for a supercharger in the end.

I'm satisfied with the results. I still get great milage. The car drives like stock, will pass smog, and only pulls harder when the loud pedal is hit. The sound alone is to die for, IMHO.

For me, it came down to the fact that I knew I could handle the S/C install. Heads, cam, matching components and required tuning for the same are something that I doubt I could pull off by myself. Since I can't seem to find anyone local who is trustworthy AND willing to work on the V, I had to go it on my own. I'm sure there are others in the same boat.

In the end, StealthV has tweaked my tune to near perfection, and by using some "benchmark" numbers I've achieved the power I was looking for (Stealth, I have a log for you and using said benchmark we see 536 @ 4,500 ft no less). Even the stock Magnuson tune was fine...no complaints here.

So, I'm happy...and I know the others that have gone the maggie route are too. I'm sure you can get that kind of power all motor, or close to it, just not as easily and just not on your own as quickly (one weekend deal) :lildevil: :lildevil:

Kool!!

I would say you certainly have a convincing case. Blower sound is Awesome too.

BUT, it would be impressive all motor......

wildwhl

Yeah, the guys on the Z06 forums have made some pretty solid cases for all motor cars. To each his own, I suppose.

One thing I would recommend, regardless of which route a person selects (power adder or all motor) is to invest in your favorite tire company beforehand. You're going to be using up the rears quite quickly - it is nearly impossible to resist (come to the dark side, smell the burn, come to the dark side and realize your power is useless unless it makes it to the ground :) )

Well, for me it appears BFG will be getting a boost in their shares.

I'm looking for a set of heads so I can start porting them, maybe off a warranty motor or something.

W, are you going to the track anytime soon? 1/4 mi. I mean.

BOING !! No need for cialis here. That is friggin BAD. The only issue I have is wintertime in Cleveland....Maggies and snow, bad mix.

I thought of a blower for the same reason, less complicated.

and HOPEFULLY, it would mate to the 07 cts-v

I think the current cts-v looks ageless (its so damn wierd looking)

But in 08-09 I might be looking for a switch...

I live in Tracy. I've heard that the Cadillac in my town does all the Magnacharger installs in the area. There is one tech there that's done many of them. Talk to Todd in service. 209-835-7750
