Finally, an All Season / Transitional tire in stock sizes
For those that live in transitional climates where the temps are pretty evenly split above and below 45 degrees (with minimal snow) during the year, Goodyear introduced the Eagle F1 Asymmetric Ultra High Performance All Season tire. Currently, it's the only all-season tire, that I know of, available in stock sizes.
500 tread wear and $243 (f) and $280 (r) at the Tire Rack.
Re: Finally, an All Season / Transitional tire in stock sizes
I put those in my previous car, a '12 Mustang GT. I was very skeptical (all seasons=no seasons), but I was very happy with these tires. They hooked up much better than the OEM Pirelli summer tires at temps <55 F, which is here virtually every morning for 10 months of the year. They handled 400 whp very well, on both wet and dry conditions, and when they broke loose, they did progressively and very predictably. I did go out with them in the snow to test them and I got stuck, so not very nice in the snow, lol.
Ok guys, 2013 cts v sedan. The ps2s are unavailable I'm my area currently somehow (yes new tires after 11k miles) an the guy is suggesting michelin sport as. Suggestions? I'm in Texas, so it's about to get cold, but he seems to be hyping them up. I don't particularly like the ps2 anyways, but how would the a/a compare to the pzero?
You managed to access this forum, so based on that it appears you have internet access. In that case, PS2s (and every other tire on the planet, for that matter) are available. www.tirerack.comwww.discounttiredirect.com (just to name a couple of the numerous websites that will deliver tires right to you, typically much cheaper than your local tire shop.) Of course, it would be kind of silly to buy the PS2s at this point, since Michelin has introduced their replacement (the Pilot Super Sports), which performs better in every way and is cheaper.

What PZeros? There are 8 or 10 different varieties of Pirelli PZeros, some of which are summer tires and some of which are all-season tires. What do you want?
I have 2 sets of wheels, one with the Pilot Sport A/S, the other with PS2s. I would only recommend the Pilot Sport A/S for cold temps. The rest of the time they are simply not enough tire for this car (you can't use much more than 1/2 throttle in 1st w/out spinning them). So unless you plan on 2 sets of wheels don't bother. Just drive careful on the few cold days you get.
I guess I should have been more clear. I do intend on having a summer and winter set. I had an accident on the highway driving in the rain under 50 mph due to no tire grip so I'm thru w the ps2s. Fortunately it was late and i just spun out with no damage. And super sport are back ordered on every site I've checked. I'll try those.

Update. Check either of those sites...one doesn't have super sports at all. The other the rears are backordered. I've had a couple people tell me those wont be produced anymore. Idk. But I want an alternative to the ps2 for the stupid Texas winters. One day snow next day 60, I don't want to chance anything w kids in the car.

The whole car came out from under you ?? with the active handling, traction control, and the electronic nannies ???? That should never happen. The electronics respond faster than you ever could. Something is very wrong.
Not really looking to argue deets. Just was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I guess I'll continue to look for the super sports. As of right now no luck.
There are new tires for our car. Look on tirerack.com. Many to choose from. I still don't see how the car came out from under you if all the electronics were functioning properly.
With PS2 and 1/4" of fresh snow, I was stranded and couldn't go up a slight incline. They are strictly designed for roads w/o ANY snow. I would go with any other tire besides PS2's anyway. Just my 2 cents
I just picked up my 2011 CTS-V. I'm super happy with it and loving every bit about it. Only thing I wish it had was bluetooth streaming audio. I had a 2010 Camaro that I drag raced making 900whp. I sold that and traded in my daily for the V! A move to a condo forced me to consolidate.
I was reading through here and of course the general consensus is winter tires are best. I even had a set on my WRX. Since I have no room to store any tires in my condo I'm really debating all-seasons. It doesn't snow too much here in NJ and if its truly that bad I can work from home. I'm looking at either the Conti DWS or I read great things about the Micheln A/S 3's. Any of you guys have your V on all-seasons and drive through light amounts of snow 1-4"?

Welcome to Cadillac Owners and congrats on your recent purchase of a CTS-V! I am glad you are satisfied with your vehicle. I see you are looking for advice about tires from forum members. True. I thought about it and I even had snows on my WRX. Gonna order some Sottozeros from tirerack every tire shop I called was insanely expensive for the same tires.
If it doesn't snow too much where you live, the Sottozeros will serve you just fine for light snow, and in cold dry weather, you will have excellent performance. TBJS offers sound advice on storing them in the summer.....you simply don't want all-seasons on this car where you live.
Makes sense. After doing some looking and calling of tire shops its gonna be cheaper to buy a mounted and balance set of blizzacks on rims than just buying the tires and having them mounted on my wheels.
There are 2 CTS-V's in my household, and I live in Northern N.J. I also Drive 1 of my V's 140 miles per day, 6 days a week.
All Season tires are great for an AWD car, but you NEED snow tires on a high hp RWD (for daily driver duty in winter in NJ). As my V's are both daily drivers (me and the wife), there are many days that the snow tires keep me from crashing and allow me to go up hills encountered on my commute. The Sottozeros were good, and I loved keeping the look of the 285 width, however, this was too wide and not practical in real snow. The Blizzaks in the 255 width (on all 4 wheels) work the best for bad weather. It does not look as cool, but it makes the car really usable in the bad weather. And the Blizzaks are cheaper too!
FYI, My local car wash installs tires and does alignments. They store my winter and summer tires for free, in the off seasons, and they match tire rack pricing when it is time for a new set of tires (which happens fairly often for me)...
I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Blizzak LM-25 gripped in the dry. It's a noticeable step down from stock, but you can still bury the throttle when already moving...
empty your inbox, and pm me - yes I still have them. They are near new..I was asking $400 including shipping on ***************. Shipping isn't particularly cheap.

I had set of Perelli Scorpion Ice and snow tires. When I bought them, they were at about 60% tread, so I can't say exactly how they would compare new with blizzaks, but I will say they did VERY well in cold weather, light snow, and are geared a bit more towards an all season so they are usable when its a bit warmer outside. When they were worn, on my srt8 i actually used them as allseason through an entire spring summer and fall, and then another winter without issue. So my guess is like many aggressive winter tires, they become kind of all-season with the tread gets worn. They really lasted a long time, particularly since I bought them used. They are not cheap.
Since I don't drive my 2011 coupe hard I was wondering if there is an all season high performance tire that would be a good fit..Most if not all the tires I've looked at are summer tires.. If there is not a performance tire what do you recommend? How are the Kumhos and Hankooks?
I just put on a set of Michelin A/S 3 and they do well for someone who won't be tracking or looking for 3.9s 0-60 times at stop lights. Definitely helped me feel comfortable during a holiday trip farther up north.
I've put 1,000 miles on them and pretty much handle as advertised.
