Hey eevryone! I've been noodlin' round these forums for quite a while now and have finally joined! Don't know much about Cadillacs, that's why I'm here, to learn. I do have a solid background in mechanics and cars, enough to become a certified mechanic! Anyhow, I am blessed and cursed with a 85' Eldorado with the evil HT4100 (horrible tallywanker) engine. I will be swapping it soon enough. I love engines, I find them very interesting. At the age of 13 I completley dissasembled a Kohler 6 HP lawnmower engine and put it back together; it actually ran afterwards too! Since then I've helped swap import engines, I've been in on 2 engine rebuilds (Chevy 400, Chevy 4.3 Vortec) and one transmission rebuild (TH400). I've even compleley rebuilt and upgraded a 20 HP B&S Engine (replaced all gaskets, seals, plugs, wires, pistons, arms, etc.). I also helped a buddy take his VW air-cooled piece of crap engine and throw it into a lake! I'm basically my family mechanic/technician! Enough bragging! I do love my cars and am always eager to learn more! :coolgleam

Lucky Jay! You got the final year model of the (IMHO) greatest Eldorado design ever. Well, maybe not EVER, but i really love the early 80s eldos. They're much better than that THING that replaced them in '86:devil:

And the HT4100 isn't THAT bad. I mean, you could always have an Olds 350 diesel...:lildevil:
