Well, I didn't want to keep hijacking the Rotella thread, so I figured I would start a new one.

I have pictures, the pictures under the car aren't all that good as it was not on ramps, so I wasn't really able to get under it... but various pictures, the motor mount is loaded with oil, the trans pan, the crossmember, the wire loom that has oil on the lower part (below the exhaust pipe level, over that is is fine)

I just say the oil on the lines and assumed it was that... plus, it is all external, where else would it come from? But it has been getting worse, and either case, I do not like it.... so far the best I have heard was to replace the o-rings in the lines for the cooler... does this seem like a problem form bad o-rings though?

riiight.... you like being a smart......butt eh? :)

Reason why I mentioned Bbob, unlike all the newbies, was that we were talking back and fourth in the other thread, so I figured I would just make my own.... hence the simple thread name an no explanation within the body :)

Have anything cool to add? :D like where it is leaking from? :)

I was driving with the windows open and I smell burning oil :(

see lumina im not the only one guilty of doing it ....dont worry wolf ...he busted my balls too ....

lumina , your gettin teprimental on me again...damn army ....

wolf ...id look at the oil filter adapter long and hard , check the oil pressure swtich , boath lines and where the adapter joins the engine

very typical to leave 4 diffrent spots on the ground when you loose a seal on that side of the engine , it runs all over the tranny and goes everywhere ..

So...Check :
1)Oil lines , replace the or rings where they fit to the adapter
2)Oil cooler line bracket , it mounts to the engine and holds the oil cooler lines perfectly still
3)Oil pressure swtich
4)Oil filter adpater at the engine joint ....
5) the fittings where the oil cooler line goes from rubber to metal , sometimes those crimps come loose

Mine leaked when i bought it at 1,3,4
after the tranny job it leaked because of # 2

also i like the engine .....youve still got al your plastic ....the tranny guy(butcher) broke my very last decoritve plastic cover ...

if yall saw my engine youd die ....boy i hate the way it looks ....but its holding its oil and it runs great so i wont comaplain too much

wonder if 89's have those ...there is one in the junkyard ...think ill go have a look at it ...

What plastic are you talking about?

the fuel rail covers?

I know the spark plug covers (lower plastic piece) are only like $10 from the dealer...

I havn't detailed my engine in a while... she is dusty so I gotta clean her... but gosh the oil...

I'll write the list down and go over it all, maybe show my father and see what he thinks... When I did the oil change last week, there didn't seem to be any oil on the outside of the filter or around there.... this is bugging me.

I dont have the fuel rail covers or the spark plug wire cover ...nothing ...its really ugly in there ....paint is peeling too ...and its dirty ...i think im also missingthe plastic cover that goes around my headlights and the insides of the grill , i saw that on another deville

Id like to get all the plastic ...then redo the valve cover after i have the timing cover gasket either channged or change it myself ...havent decided if i want to do it myself ..might just have cadillac do it and have them change my coolant while there at it ...

a nice note .....my main bearing thump is completly gone .....that GM EOS did the trick
