From your first car to your current one and even one you would love to own in the future. Also list your favorite two and least favorite. Here are mine:

85' Ford Tempo
89' Pontiac Trams Am GTA (Favorite)
95' Ford F-150
00' Ford Expedition
01' Dodge Durango (Least Favorite)
03' Cadillac Escalade (Favorite)

I have be driving for 11 years. not to bad of a list. I am sure some of you have owned tons of different cars.

The car I would like to own would be a late sixties Firebird or Trans Am. I would love to see Pontiac release the Trans Am soon and top what Ford did with the Mustang. The would definetly be the next car I would purchase.

Yes, I still have my first car! I've had it for 8 years and only put around 9k miles since. It's still a work in progress, but my plans are to make a nice street machine out of it.
My Dad bought the car for me when I was 15 for $800, and I've been addicted to Cadillacs ever since!

'86 Cadillac Deville (only had this for two years: still have this project car),
'89 Pontiac 6000 LE (tag-n-tow after blown cylinder head),
'87 Cadillac Seville (still own, 4.5 liter drop-in, still needs some work),
'91 Cadillac Seville (interesting car, the X factor in sleeper car racing).

As you folks can tell, I still own all of the Cadillacs. There may be a '95 Lincoln Mark VIII in the future if I can talk the guy down some (junk yard car in decent shape).

For me, in the order I got the cars:

1993 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
1989 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight Royale
1979 Cadillac Sedan DeVille d'Elegance

my list is small compared to all yours :(

All 3 cars I still have, the '93 DeVille atleast I will never get rid of. The Olds is going to be my daily driver until it gets consumed by rust years from now, and the '79, while peppy now, is going to be getting a large kick in the pants once the 472/500 comes along :) CaddyDaddy.... I look up to you :)

2 best and 1 worst? lol... there is all 3 of my cars... NONE of my cars are "bad" in fact if I had to sell 1 right now, I wouldn't be very happy as they all have a place. The '93 is my ultimate car, I love that car, and honestly, EVERY other car I have been in, including new cars simply does not compare to my '93 Coupe DeVille.... some are faster (my fathers '99 Grand Prix GTP), some are more fun to drive (friends '01 Jetta 1.8T.... love that 5spd) Some ride a better (grand fathers '03 Grand Marquis LS) not to mention the sporty look of my fathers GP, or my cousins '01 Stratus ES..... but I always find thigns I don't like about those cars, and when I get back into my DeVille, I just think that it is the car for me, everything it does, it does great. Anything it dosn't do great, I improve on it :) The day that a car comes along that I treuly love the way it runs, drives and everything else better then my '93 DeVille is the day it gets retired to show car/weekend driving :) (not including classics and stuff)

the Oldsmobile.... cheap to run and maintain, powerful, great on gas, and now has a 2nd life (you'll see :) )

the '79.... heh... has to be the most reliable, best looking, best performing, nicest car ever bought for $300 :) serisouly, I did a tune up, and that was it... the tires are now bald, so I need new tires, but it is a great car... my plans with this car are to repalce the 425 with a nicely built 472/500 :) until then the 425 is getting a little more muscle :)

Any information on what suspension you replaced the original with? I know there is a thread somewhere on it, but I figured I would ask again. Wasn't it a Lumina suspension or something similar?

Anyways, I want to have a firmer (actualy working) suspension on the Seville. Not only am I going for the turbocharger, but I would also like to do a complete body restoration on this car. There will be subtle differences like larger brakes and a better suspension, but she will look stock otherwise.

Also, as much as I hate to right now, it looks as though I should put a new engine in with the turbocharger. I just don't think that with near 160K on the OD it will be wise to put forced induction on her. But hey, tuning during "stage-1" is what is needed so I don't blow a new engine, so I might as well do it, huh?

The transmission is also showing a TC clutch fault, so that should be re-done too... :suspect: But hey, 3.43:1 gears and a posi will put some serious heat on this car

Nightwolf, what did you do with that Northstar? Any plans for it right now? You could always drop it into a Fiero and have a "toy" if you will...That would be cool.

Nope no lumina parts ...well they might be ...but i dont know ....But i did mention that it rode like a lumina after i installed the kit from boston suspension , it rode pretty terrible concidering i bought the "softest" ride avaible from him ...i was pissed for the first 700 miles ....then i thought "hmm this is getting beatter" by 1400 miles it rides exactly how i wanted it to ....these struts break in very very slowly ...Im not sure what is offered for your Seville .....that car isnt eaxctl like mine LOL .....i hope someone has a solution , ive always liked that "tiny seville" LOL ...

It needs DTS wheels too dude .....17 inch turbine wheels for a car packing a turbine to compress air....

It needs DTS wheels too dude .....17 inch turbine wheels for a car packing a turbine to compress air....

When she goes to the 3.43:1 gears, she will likely get an upgrade tire and wheel package to keep fuel economy and highyway driving in check. With a 17 inch package, the FD ratio will likely drop (raise actually) to 3.33:1, which is just right by my book. I will likely go with the aforementioned DTS wheels or maybe some STS wheels...It all depends on what I want for her when she is finished.

Personally, I want slightly stiffer suspension and have considered the '91 STS suspension or something like it, but it seems way too involved right now to do that changeover. I will give Boston a shot though, and if they have a sport package that will fit the Seville, the better off I will be.

Righ now the biggest problem on take-off is ass-end squat along with the front end lift...Whichever is doing the lifting/squating... :hmm: And the car bottoms out when I hit a bump in the road, so any suspension is better than what is on her now.

Wow! that is definitly very cool....

My purchess price was $450 less then yours, except my car was taken very good care of.... I havn't spent half of what you put into yours though...wow, that is alot.

So far the most expensive being the new wheels ($338 shipped) and tires ($350 or so for all 4) and then the new struts... well, the new rear sturts so far ($130 for the pair) and the front should be replaced too... but honestly, they may wait as the Olds needs 4 new struts, and that is the car that is coming to FL with me....

I agree with you about the body work thing.... my '93 DeVille is now getting the problem that GM had with the clear coat, the worst is on the roof, then a 2nd spot on the roof, then right behind the rear window, and a spot on the trunk lid, and finally the front edge of the left fender.... the car needs to be repainted, THAT will be the most I spend, I really am pissed... but what are ya gonna do, I could live with it forever, but she will get repainted within the next couple of years... when that happens, I will replace all the chrome that is bad, like the grille that is kinda fadded, or the front bumper which is hazy and dosn't shine etc... all that will be like new :)

Nightwolf, what did you do with that Northstar? Any plans for it right now? You could always drop it into a Fiero and have a "toy" if you will...That would be cool.

The NorthStar..... heh... want it?

seriously, if I was staying in NY, living at home, the engine would be built already and now in this nice Spring weather, I would be looking for a sweet '95 Eldorado ETC with a bad engine to be the donor car....

but that isn't happening, I am moving to FL, I do not have the time or money to build an engine right now, and in my apartment in FL, there will be no where either.

So I am trying to sell the NorthStar, although I havn't really pushed for it, it is one of those things that is someone offers me the cash ($200.... what I paid for it) I will sell it... if not, then I will keep it and one day, like you said, it would go in a Fiero.

Honestly though, I want a complete 472/500.... I should have got the 2 a guy had for $100/each. If I *did* sell the NorthStar (all apart and in pieces) then I would want to look for the complete 472/500.... for a few reasons 1) I already have a car to put it in 2) it is complete... 1 item, not a dozen different items, then a box with the remaining pieces that the NorthStar is 3) it would sit in my basement at the house here in NY covered, waiting for when ever I really build it up.

That is the main reason why I want to sell it, not so much to get rid of it, but if I do, it would "let me" get the 472/500 since my mother already gives me greif having 1 engine in the basement, I would never hear the end of it.

So if you, or anyone here is interested in it, then PM me as I want to get rid of it, needs to be rebuilt, but is in otherwise great shape, hell if your in the area (within a couple hours from me) I can load it on my trailer and even bring it to you :) I love long drives.

If you have a complete 472/500 to trade, hell, that is even better :)

GAH! the '78 was a Fleetwood?

you DO have the hood right.... since they were aluminam and VERY hard to come by? Did that have the 2.78 Posi with rear disc brakes too?

Gosh, I want that rear end form a Fleetwood/towing package DeVille... the 2.78 gearing is perfect, Posi is needed and rear disc brakes are just cool... and the alumanium hood, dosn't rust, and removes weight form the front end... something these cars need alot less of (weight on front end)

This in the order in which I got them.

1966 Mustang
1989 Volve 740GLE
1998 STS

The Mustang I still have, as well as the STS. The Volvo went to my sister after I got the STS, and she ended up running it into the ground. It already had one foot in the grave when she got it (I beat the s**t out of that car..hehe :D )

It's a shame we don't live anywhere near each other. My friend wants a Northstar (or series 2 3800 SC) to put in his 91 Buick Park Ave so I'm sure he'd buy it. You want the aluminum hood that I'd let you have if you were near here. :helpless: The rear end unfortunately isn't a posi though (or is a worn out posi,) it did one wheel peels.

I regretted selling my 330i. Yet I cant bring myself to really want another 3 Series, theyre just so small. The 5 and 7 though just dont compare in driving feel but theyre as close as it gets I suppose.

My next favorite was probably a tie between the LS430, and the Cadillac.

Thats why I doubt I will ever be able to sell any of my cars :)

My father has every car he ever owned... except for his very first car, which he sold to his freind, then crushed it for no reason at all... so he bought one similar to it ('64 Bonniville IIRC) but he said it was never the same.

The Caddys I will have, the Olds... I would hate to get rid of it, which is why I will keep driving it. I will be towing with it, so I know the tranny will go around 200k (130k now) in that case I'll probably replace it... maybe get it rebuilt, I dunno, if anything happened to the engine, I would rebuild that, a 3800 V6... that is easy enough. The only concern with that car is rust... most notably, the bottom portions of both A pillars.. when the plastic inner wheel well is removed, the whole lower part is rotted out...

I told myself when I first got the '93 DeVille that I will never, ever sell if... I don't want to end up "damn, I wish I never sold that car" and every day I drive it, the more I love it... great car... if it every gets into a wreck, I will rebuild it, that simple. Which is another thing, I am not scared to drive it... I keep thinking how all the time that i use it, it is that more difficult to restore in the future, hard to find parts etc... but then what? I won't be able to enjoy it... so I am making sure i get all the use I can from it... I did do some stupid things in it when I first started driving, but nothing too bad :) She is in great shape though and has got nothing but the best of care :)

damnit... I also want to see that ETC! :)

yeah, that hood is high on my list of mods for the '79.... only thing to do would be to get it painted, which woudln't be all that hard.

Honestly, from a '77-'79 Fleetwood, I would want the hood, the rear axle if it has the 2.78 gears, Posi and rear disc brakes, and all the lower chrome that goes ont he rockers, doors and rear quarter... IMO that chrome on the bottom really seperates them from looking sweet (Fleetwood... or 80's Broughams) and plain, on the cheap side (my car)

You gotta put all that stuff in a garage somewhere... one day I'll come by and pick it all up :)

How far are ya from FL? :) I *will* have my trailer when I move to Clearwater ;) :)

96 Porsche 3.6 Turbo
99 LS 400

I also had a 99 xjr for a while. I gave it away. The ext is the first caddy I ever bought and I am very happy with it. I believe it has qualities that no german or japanese could match. Also i dont know the real year for the csi. It was given to me as a gift...could be fake but it has the v12.

You didn't ask me but, The one I missed the most was my 1980 G-body Grand AM. We ordered it in Nov of '79 and took delivery on Dec 19th. I still don't know why I traded it in 1982 and as fate would have it I found it, or it found me Last June. I bought it back with 44k on the odo, still had the Western Bullitts and BFG T/A's that I sold it with! A dealer collector, recognizing how rare these were, bought it and stored it inside for 22 years adding just 11,000 miles to the clock. I LOVE MY BABY!!:coolgleam

Mostly RWD for me, and mostly sedans. I'm not really a truck guy unless the job calls for it. I miss the 929 and 626 the most. The 626 had the slickest 5-speed shifter in the world along with a driving position that seemed as if the car was custom tailored for me. The 929 had fabulous steering and a lot of endearing quirks.
Both vehicles had nifty motorized oscillating vents.

Kwikcad500 has an aluminum hood, with some small dings in it even, that he wants $200 for. My hood is in perfect condition so I'll definately make sure that doesn't see the crusher. The chrome on the lower part of the car in between the wheels is in good shape too so I'll probably store it somewhere too. It's "only" 1850 miles from Clearwater to Albuquerque, I did 1550 in 23 hours in the ETC. If you're ever in the neighborhood let me know ;)

For some ridiculous reason I miss the 1985 Delta 88. It was a mammoth, didn't even have power windows or seats, but it was still a very comfortable highway cruiser. And I could make that burgundy paint really look good.

The first Mustang I had was special to me as well. I totalled it in an ice storm, but since it was so new they re-built it to factory specs. It was probably a better car AFTER the wreck, because they butchered them so badly in 1983 during the conversion to convertible. I think there were fewer than 700 made that year.

Everything else was pretty much disposable. The two Acura Legends were very good cars, the second one was probably the best car I ever owned. But I wouldn't go back to it. No emotional attachment there.

You guys mis-interrpited me. I never bought an Oldsmobile, but there was absolutly no reason as to WHY. Ditto, Plymouth, Ditto AMC. I say that I'd never own one, because they (all 3) are no longer made ! I have Nothing against any of them ! As a matter of fact, all 3 made car that I was WiLd over!! Sport Fury GT, Hemi 'Cudas, 4.4.2 W-30 & W-31 Machines, from "Dr. Oldsmobile" ~ THE Machine from AMC, Matadors with the 440 GO Package, The BIG BAD Javalins, the Hornet SC360, and so many others.... Again, I only meant that those brands are deceased and I cannot buy a new one.....
(Sorry...it's my accent, I guess) ;)

By the way, the Dodges I owned from 1968 thru 1971 I bought on a very special plan thru Chrysler Corporation available to salespersonal, making it VERY VERY VERY cheap to do, thusly, as a single guy making alot of money I got to have a Hemi Challenger for speed & an Electra 225 Custom Convertible for luxury! (Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end.....) I left off one car in error, I will try & add it....

I'm pretty sure that's correct, Ralph. GM discontinued the RWD 98 Regency and DeVille the year before.

Then they discontinued the RWD Delta 88, LeSabre, and Parisienne the next year.

I drove an '87 FWD Delta 88 and really liked it, but not enough to buy it. I put 38,000 miles on my '85 Delta 88 in a little over one year. I changed jobs and didn't need a highway cruiser anymore so I unloaded it.

Chicks didn't dig it either.

Interesting thread.....everyone wants to talk about their rides!

So here goes:

1985 Toyota Mark II
1992 Toyota Sprinter (Corrolla/Geo kinda thing)
1996 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (its a Lexus GX 470)
1988 Saab 900 Turbo
1981 Camaro Z28
1984 Lincoln Towncar
1988 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham
1998 Camaro Z28
1998 Honda Accord V6
2001 BMW 525i M-Sport
1998 Cadillac Deville

Favorites would be the Bimmer, Mark II (first car) and the 81 Z-28
Losers would be the 98 Z-28, the Lincoln and the Sprinter

In the immediate future I am considering a 2001 LS 430 Ultimate, 2002 Q45 Premium.

And sometime in the distant future I would like to get a nice hardtop convertible like the AMG SL65 (yeah right!)

Hehehe...I may have got ya'll beat in the most cars owned in the shortest amount of time...this won't be in any proper order, and I'll probably miss some of them...lets see...started at 14, I'm 22 now.

'63 T-Bird 401/auto
'63 Mercury 406 2-4bbl/auto
'66 Lincoln Continental 462
'59 (maybe a 60) Lincoln 430
'60 Dodge D-100 318 Poly/standard
'60 Dodge D-100 383/auto from the one below.
'68 Barracuda that was mostly destroyed when I got it...drove for a bit and pulled the motor for the next car.
'68 Plymouth Sport Fury 383/auto from the barracuda, engine/tranny I still have today in the second of the '60 D-100's
'72 Challenger 440/auto, but will be a year or so until its installed.
'72 Cadillac Deville 472
'83 Eldorado Biaritz 4.1
'94 STS N*
'84 Honda Accord 5 spd Bought it with a blown headgasket, drove it for a week and found the auto below...sold it for a hundred more than I paid for it.
'84 Honda Accord auto thing ran forever, without water, wheels fell off when the bearings ate through the spindles
'76 AMC Concord Was rear-ended multiple times in a road rage incident, still drove it for four months, pulled the motor to put in the Hornet below.
'78-ish AMC Hornet Painted bright yellow with black bumblebee stripes...just for fun.
'84-ish Dodge Daytona (not the turbo, unfortunately) Lost a CV joint and the car wasn't worth fixing.
84-ish Plymouth Turismo (We called it the Turdismo, but it was a great car!) Headgasket went, so I bought the Sport Fury
'91 F-150 Bought as temp. transp. until I had the Fury running and had the lights working.
'73 Porsche 914 convertible with the bad ass li'l 6 cyl. I sold it cause I didn't fit, being 6'10 at the time.
'52 Desoto something or other...had the little tiny Hemi in it, a 241, I believe.
'73 Jeep Cherokee Lost all forward gears at the lake one day, drove home 20 some odd miles in reverse...using the headlights as brake lights when I had to stop.
'76 F-100 Big mistake...brought it home thinking the smog laws were still 30 years in California...but '75 is the cutoff...the 390 wouldn't pass without a lot of work, so I gave it away.
'78 Olds 88 5.7 Diesel Drove it while putting a new motor in my '94 STS, until the tranny dumped all its fluid on the highway...best damned $400 car I ever bought...wish I would have found a tranny instead of leaving it there.
'85 Chevy Silverado Another temp. driver between vehicles at some point in the past...absolutely no leg room!

Those are the ones that I actually bothered to transfer to my name...there were a few more that were only kept for a week or so...and I may have forgotten some as well...
Wish I'd have kept the Desoto, the Lincolns, the T-Bird, the Mercury and the Eldorado. I still have the big block D-100, the Challenger, the '72 Deville, the '94 STS, and the Desoto I COULD get back if I really wanted to, he offered to give it to me for what he payed...but I have no time, money or storage space for it, so I'll have to let it go.
