Boombotz 05-22-05, 10:22 AM How about 4 Barrel or Holley 4 Barrel. i kinda like 4 barrel. one idea i came up with was just 472, but i dont know how many people, if any would get it, Boombotz 05-22-05, 01:31 PM I will try to come up with more and will let you know. What type of music you guy's perform. I also figured you would get more help from others here. Stoneage_Caddy 05-22-05, 01:37 PM "Shaker" (sounds like a boy band to me)
"Tri Power" (sounds like a early 80s glam rock band)
"Cutlass" (kinda neat , olds might get pissed)
"Gas Tires and Oil" (nickname for the GTO)
"Positrac"
"Torqflyte" chrysler automatic tranny
"Side Oiler " Nickname for the 427 cube engine used in cobras RBraczyk 05-22-05, 02:02 PM Your thinking along the lines of the band Chevelle. Good thinking.
Roadrunner is a cool car name, but i dunno about a band name Stoneage_Caddy 05-22-05, 02:16 PM Or how bout the baddest of the bad in 87 .....GNX Boombotz 05-22-05, 02:25 PM How about: Hywire (GM's name of its experimental fuel cell car) I think it really went haywire on them though. “Six-Pack”
“Howl Induction”
“The 409’s”
“Jimmy Blown and the Rock Crushers” “The 442’s”
Dddoooooooohhhhhhhh!!! I was thinking of saying that! :disappoin
"Howl Induction" is cool.

I wish i realized what this thread was yesterday .....ive always wanted my own band ...we were gonna be huge , we had a accordian , a electric piano 2 base gutars a drume set and me on the metal bowl with a wooden spoon....our name ? "Bloody Onion" .....we "reinteprted" songs from the caprneters in a megadaeth style ....we never caught on .....i dont know why What type of music you guy's perform.
we play psychobilly/rockabilly. ill post a logo my guitarist was playing around with. http://www.adumbrecords.com/images/ST86_1.JPG
i think its a cool sounding name, but unless were gonna be a band for truckers to listen to, its not that cool. and it doesnt quite fit with the picture their. i was thinking more of a muscle car reference, but an old cruiser reference or something would be really cool too. we actually thought of the 442's but just skipped over it. maybe it it were like 'the four forty two's' itd be cool too, idk. Stoneage_Caddy 05-22-05, 09:13 PM "The Sixty Speicals" "The Sixty Speicals"
i do like that one,
ill have to do a little searching to make sure its not one. i couldnt find a band with that name *thumbs up* Boombotz 05-22-05, 10:47 PM "The Sixty Speicals"
Adam,
That word is spelled Special. I hope you checked it that way. Just tring to help out and make sure. Sorry Stone. Didn't know if it was a typo. Stoneage_Caddy 05-23-05, 12:39 AM it was ....i have a hard time spelling anymore .....my head is to full of trivial facts like who is the head doctor of indianapolis motor speedway .....(dr henry bock) The "Six Shooters"
"440 Six Pack"
"340 Six Pack" davesdeville 05-23-05, 03:51 AM 2 Fast 2 Furious? :p "The Cadillac Devilles" (Broughams?)
I rest my case! :lildevil: :sneaky: Stoneage_Caddy 05-23-05, 09:52 AM The conestogas .......well they did have in upwards of 2 horse power ....oh they were a trim level on studebakers (a throw back to there wagon building days) HotRodSaint 05-23-05, 10:33 AM "Primer"
"Primer and Flames"
"The Pinstripes"
"Chopped and Channelled"
"The Gassers"
"The Modified"
"The Lakesters"
"White Wall Slicks"
Gotta work, more later... I realize you're looking for an automotive theme. I knew a guy in a now-defunct band called "Jif and the Choosy Mothers." I always thought that was a perfect name for a garage band.
My own advice is not to use a number in your band's name. You never know who's going to show up and who won't. Putting "six" in the name is just asking for someone to quit. lol, i like jif and the choosy mothers. that ones classic. and back to the sixty specials, i did search it right. i didnt even notice he spelt it wrong, lol. adam_mcd 05-25-05, 04:00 AM i love the carpenters, stoneage. megadeath carpenters...thats just plan hiiiiiiiiilarious. Krashed989 05-25-05, 04:34 AM I have always wanted to make a band and name it "The Twisted Nipples"... Don't ask me why...
How about
"The Catylatic Converters", or "The Blown Fuses", or "Exhaust Pipes", or "2000 Horse Power", or "Nitrous Injectors", or "6 Speed Manual". I like that last one best... JimHare 05-25-05, 12:35 PM I was in a band once called Vicious Cheese...:)
We could try to come up with the most obscure references that only car geeks would recognize: "Hy Cam and the Followers"
"The Muffler Bearings"
Or, my alltime favorite from 11th grade Driver Ed.. "Blood on the Streets".. or was it "Death on the Highway" ??? Stoneage_Caddy 05-25-05, 12:49 PM i really didnt like the carpenters myself , but one dudes parents had a carpenters record and a single of "afternoon delight" by some other band ...which is the one song int he world i hate most
but i really think that afternoon delight would have gotten us a record deal ....it had a neat sound to it .....our lead singer would scream the lyrics in the same tune and tone as "sweating bullets" by megadeath ....well acutally if you have heard of naplam death or deicide that was more our sound , i forget the other sings we did , but we alywas covered the lamest 70s dog crap out there in our style ....dan fogeolberg and the bee gees are some bands songs we covered ....
"men without hats" safety dance was the newest song we did ....
more than anything me on the wooden spoon banging against a metal bowl gave us our siganture sound ....
the neibors hated us .... hey, thanks stoney, i think right now we are leaning towards 'the sixty specials' Stoneage_Caddy 05-25-05, 11:29 PM kick ass ! Boombotz 05-25-05, 11:36 PM Glad we can help Adam and good thinking there Stone. adam_mcd 05-25-05, 11:37 PM 'guys...i got a fever..and the only prescription is more cowbell' Stoneage_Caddy 05-25-05, 11:46 PM sounds like will farrel to me lol

Good Luck me and my guitarist were disscussing flathead a bit. sadly, straight eights is taken as a band name, i was gunning for that one myself. nailhead would be a cool name too, |
