I went over his head. To the owner.

I have 2700mi on her, and the outside tread are down to the indicaters. :hmm:
Does anyonr else have this peoblems??????????????? urbanski 05-20-05, 10:15 AM normally the centers of the rears wear out first
so seems you have an alignment problem Ghost-V 05-20-05, 10:28 AM You're in St. Charles, right?
Which dealer do you service your V at? ctsvett 05-20-05, 01:56 PM What PSI are you running? They may be under inflated..
Reed 04CTSVforMe 05-20-05, 02:17 PM I had that problem with my 2002 Camaro SS, except it was the front that needed the alignment.
Unfortunately I rotated the tires and thought is was due to aggressive cornering in a heavy performance car.
Get 'em aligned, IMO. Z06CTSV 05-20-05, 08:36 PM My dealer realign my tires, but not using Caddy's numbers on angle or camber( I'm not sure ), on the driver side rear. It seems to have helped so far, 4000 miles since. If your interested his name in Darren @ Sewell Cadillac here in New Orleans 504-581-7585.
Good Luck
Joe
New Orleans laz4112 06-06-05, 04:23 PM yes, had this problem on fron tires of CTS. I checked with dealer any they claim rotating the tires every 3000 mi. That funny because this car is driven easy and not like a lap car. I feel its alignment issue or defect. homer403 06-06-05, 05:42 PM I have the same problem as you do. I did bring it up with my Dealer's Service Manager, who I trust because the service manager owns a V too, said that rotating will help. And it has, I rotate every 3,000 miles. laz4112 06-06-05, 06:48 PM Common dude! if your forced rotating the tires every 3000 mi there is something wrong. The last time had a problem like this is when I was 17 and the cheap tires was all I could afford not to mention the car and figure that I got more than 12000 mi on them without a problem. GNSCOTT 06-06-05, 07:52 PM Funny you mention this. Caddy just aligned my tires for the 2nd time. I called customer service again to complain and I stressed that it was a safety issue. I do not have a problem with the tires wearing prematurely, i do have a problem with uneven wear. I did not even notice mine until I brought it in for service and they pointed it out. You should not have to keep crawling under the car to see if the very inside edge is wearing like that. I am contacting a lemon law attorney in the AM. My father works in the courts and he knows someone that has blasted a bunch of local dealers. The dealership refused to do anything about it, and refused me a loaner car until it was fixed. I had a thread about this same subject a couple of weeks back. My rear tires did the same, now its the front. No wonder Caddy wants a 3k rotation. Its to hide their f-up with the suspension. Below is the pic of one of my front tires. Oh, when I bought the car there was no mention of 3k mile rotation (still have not gotten anything in writing about it) or that the tires wouldn't last as long as the same exact tires did on my Vette. The dealer told customer service they are supposed to last 6k miles. http://usedhitchcockfurniture.com/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_26/DSC00040.JPG laz4112 06-06-05, 08:44 PM Wows thats something! my wear is on the opposite edge of both front tires, not yet as bad but very concerning. Ill check my owners manual tonight for 3000 rotation as service claims. Did you have the recall completed for the from wheel boot ? I did. Ill send picture of mine tomorrow. Ryan's '05-V 06-06-05, 09:17 PM Mine has 8800 miles and the outsides of all four of my tires are wearing more than the inside. I need to rotate one more time and then replace them.
That one looks pretty bad in that pic. LS6-CTS-V 06-07-05, 07:17 AM Just an Update:
My dealer along with the Cadillac's advisers, realinged my car and gave me TWO new rear tires.
It drive a like a whole different car. I love it.
I went to the Cave Springs Dealer, In St. Charles, MO. laz4112 06-07-05, 10:58 AM LS6-CTS-V Cool! That what I call Cadiallac service and standing by what they sell. How many mile were on your car? also how did the tires wear? GNSCOTT 06-07-05, 05:19 PM All recalls have been done on my car. The car was aligned when the rear tires did this (4 wheel alignment) and now the fronts and Caddy just aligned it again. They said the alignment is not off and they will not buy me new tires, and will not look at it under warranty. My tires do have 16k on them but as you can see my wife drives the car full time and they would STILL be useable if the wear wasn't uneven. I usually just run my hand accross the tire to feel for how much tread is left and weather I need new tires, as you can see by my photo, even doing that I could not notice this drastic wear on the very inside edge. Ghost-V 06-07-05, 05:49 PM That's good to hear about the dealer (Bommorito?) working with you.
I asked them about how they would handle some mods being done to the vehicle (Maggie, Corsa, etc.) and they flipped out: "Oh man, that's probably gonna void yer warranty."
I have not had the V up there for anything yet, partly because I'm worried that I'll find out they do not have the most competent service department, or worse, just jerk me around... :banghead:
On the positive side, I will say that the purchase process was a cake-walk though, and the sales manager seems very accomodating and willing to make sure everything is OK - even after the sale. |
