The transmission tail bushing on my 89 Brougham D'Elegance (5.0L) is like weared off.
I know that such 204R have a normal play, but now it's too much.
It have a vibration over 50 mph and the oil is spitting on the exaust.

My local transmission specialist want me to ask if the dealer have a special tool to remove the bushing...
The nearest dealer told me that they are working the old bushing out with a punch and a plyer.

Is it the real method ?

A good local trans shop can get that bushing out and replace it with new for $150.00

I have the same problem with my 200-4r tranny in my 85 Fleetwood Brougham. I noticed the vibration after I had my tranny re-built. I have not been able to figure out exactly what the problem is but the output shaft on the trans (also known as the yolk, the part that the drive shaft slips over) has A LOT of play. If you remove the drive shaft the yolk will drop and rest on the trans housing.

I went to a few tranny shops around my home and no one wants to deal with it, including the shop who re-built my tranny.
