: Total loss of power steering.

I've just replaced my power steering pump on my 1993 Fleetwood Brougham (which was extremely noisy) and my power steering hoses (which were in need of replacement as well).

Before I did all this, I was driving down the freeway and lost all power assist (It worked fine, then all gone all at once). I have to hang on the steering wheel to get it to turn, and on the interstate it's still a big handful to keep the car moving. I've since replaced the parts, suspecting the noisy pump and leaky hose were from the fluid totally emptying out of the system.

I reinstalled all of the parts, primed the system, exact same symptoms!

I'm wondering is the EVO has anything to do with this (I know it's broken but I thought default was open not closed). I've never heard of a power steering box clogging with junk, but that's the only other thing I can think of.

I need this car running ASAP; please lend advice if you have ideas.

Also: the car just had a total front end rebuild. PST super front end kit and Monroe Severe Service shocks.
