Hello everybody,

I have 94 Deville with 4.9l engine. My SES ligght came on couple times. I checked the codes. They are P030, P052 and P098 do you have any comments about these codes I reset these codes and drove the car for some time and SES won't come back. Is it serious or should ignore it? Thank you for the replies....

Your Idle Speed Control motor ( ISC) may need replacement. Do you hear unusual noise coming from it when you shut the engine off? ISC reudjusts itself after shutting down the ngine and when it is bad the soft rattling noise becomes quite noticeable.

PO52 means you have had the battery out recently
p098 High RPM P/N to D/R Shift Under ISC
p030 ISC trouble

Perfectly normal to have the ISC motor go out , a replacemnt can be had at advance autoparts for around 55 bucks .....

these will beging to fail intermittently for awhile then will comepletly die ...your best bet is to go ahead and replace it , if it keeps getting stuck in high idle you not only end up powerbraking the car at lights but cause undue wear and tear on a tranny that isnt very hearty .....
