I changed the oil in my 02 about 3 months/2000 miles ago and the change oil light is back on already... .does this sound right? Can anything else falsely trip this light?

It could very well be that it needs another oil change. tdogg5184 05-15-05, 10:09 PM Or it could be that you did not reset the oil life moniter when it was changed? Boombotz 05-15-05, 10:17 PM Or it could be that you did not reset the oil life moniter when it was changed? Does the '02 have that? I know my '03 has the percentage of oil life. hcvone 05-16-05, 08:34 AM As said the oil reset probably was not done. chrisd0279 05-16-05, 08:53 AM I definitely reset the oil change light back then and it hasn't come on n the 3 months until Saturday. One thing I thought of was, it has a remote starter and my wife would constantly start it from the house and let it run for 10-20 minutes before taking off. I'm wondering if these extra idling hours all winter took away from the oil life. hcvone 05-16-05, 09:44 AM My truck idles a lot, I will leave it running believe it not some times most of the day in the winter, and when it's hot in the summer and never had the oil light come on before 4800 miles, but I guess anything is possible. :hmm: MEJIA 05-16-05, 02:21 PM If you reset the indicator the last time an oil change was performed and the truck is already indicating it is time for another oil change, go ahead and perform it Mejia | |
