Welcome aboard!
IMO, the 4.9 is the better engine based on your criteria. It is the more reliable and easier to work on one of the two. Again IMO of course.

I've driven, owned and serviced both... Honestly, both are wedged into the FWD cars really tight and neither are "fun" to work on... If you're looking for "Easy to work" on I'd go for a RWD Fleetwood...

However FWD N* vs 4.9... I have a N* and I would never go back... More power, better mileage... way more fun.

The Northstar wasn't available in '92.

Thank you all for your input, i understand that the 92 dosnt come with a N* also i would more then likely go with a Fleetwood if it looked as good as the seville/Eldo to me :p . So it sounds the 4.9 is better im not looking for mass performance just somethin to cruse i also looked at some remanufactured motors and it would seem the 4.9 is extremely cheaper then the N*. What im really looking to do is buy a 92 and drive it arround untill i got the money for a remanufactured motor and tranny then i will take it to have it put in as this would be the best thing for me to do, once agian thanks for th info great forum btw :)
