Anybody use either the bedslide or cargo pro? There is a lot of discussion on the Chevy AV sites but no discussions here. Just wondering if anyone has had any particular success with any of these systems.

I bought a Bed Slide a few months ago and I really like it.
Check with your local truck cap / accessory store.
My local store sold me one .. with the water proof rug... for $695.00 total which is $100.00 less than I could find advertised anywhere on the web.
I wasn't aware of the Cargo Pro until I read your post but haven't found very much on it so far.
The Cargo Pro looks like it has the advantage of being a lot easier to remove if needed and has dividers to hold cargo but ...
it doesn't have the same load capacity in weight or size with it's smaller width.

In my EXT.. the Bed Slide is the full width of the back of the truck except for about an inch on each side.
It takes up about 3-4 inches away from the total height from bottom of the bed to the underneath of the covers.
( I actually find the handles that lock the covers on are a main problem when loading anything of considerable height in the back with the covers on, whether you have a Bed Slide or not. )
Unlike pictures I saw before I bought it...the Bed Slide has a small lip on the back which I like.
It bolts in using the 4 bolts that hold the stock lower cargo hooks.
The whole thing is pretty heavy.. I would guess about 150 - 200 pounds.
If you have them load the Bed Slide into the back of the vehicle when you pick it up while still in the shipping box... you can then fiddle around and remove the carboard box while the unit is still in the bed and then bolt it in place.
Otherwise you need 2 people to handle it to install it because of the heavy weight.
It has a spring loaded lever that locks in place either all the way in or all the way extended.
My overall experience since installing it is that I am glad I did get it.
It has greatly increased the ease in which you can load and unload.

The only other thing to mention is, I drilled a couple holes in the back lip and added a slim line handle ( to clear the tailgate when it closes ) making it much easier to pull out.
Otherwise when there's a load in the bed.. it's a bit difficult not having anything to grab to pull out the Bed Slide.
Other than that.. it's like anything else you buy now a days,.. not perfect but worth getting if you don't need that extra 4 inches of height all the time.
On another note.. if Cadillac had made the tail gate swing open like a regular door.. I might not have bought the Bed Slide but that's another subject.
I also heard the Bed Slides are standard on 2005's but haven't seen much info on that.
I would Google search more info on the Cargo Pro and the Bed Slide simply to see which one might fit your needs better.
Other than that...Hope this info helps and Good Luck.
Regards.. Frank

Dude! Thanks for all the great info!!! VERY helpful. Given the weight, do you think you see a considerable hit in gas mileage?

Last question: I'm thinking about installing a JL Audio Midgate, which has a bit of intrusion into the back compartment. Does the bedslide extend all the way to the midgate? If so, it would preclude my ability to add the JL product.

You're welcome and no.. I don't notice any differrence in gas milage and actually the weight gives a slightly smoother ride.
Also, if I remember correctly, there is at least 3, .. maybe 4 inches of space between the midgate and the inside end of the Bedslide.

PS: if I don't forget I'll get an exact measurement and post back.

UPDATE:
The inside end of the Bed Slide is actually 5 inches away from the Midgate.
That end of the Bed Slide also has a higher lip to keep cargo on the Bed Slide and ...
from the bottom of the truck bed to the top of that lip is 6 inches.
