i don't know if this here is the right forum for that stuff, so tell me if not...

i'm a EFI guy and had to do some work on a 92 STS, so i wrote a ads-defintion file for TunerPro (http://tunerpro.markmansur.com/) to read the DTC's and sensor values thru the OBD-I of the car and my laptop.

I just wanted to let you know about that, cause i think some of you would like a affordable OBD-I solution for your laptop.

All you need is:
- A ALDL 8192 cable; i recommend the ALDU1 from Moates (http://www.moates.net/index.php?cPath=31)
- The TunerPro Software (http://tunerpro.markmansur.com/) - it's freeware and can be downloaded from it's website
- my 16132240_91-93_L26_8192.ads (http://www.moates.net/files/4%29%20Datastream%20Definitions/16132240_91-93_L26_8192.ads) definition file for TunerPro

This file works for all E and K Bodies from 91 - 93 with the 4.9L engine. The file is working, but not yet the completely checked final version.

Since i saw that even the other OBD-I Cadillac's aren't too different from this stream, i will make some files for some other cars.

This is pretty interesting. Is it possible to make software updatable and/or have different definition files for other years?

or have different definition files for other years?
yes, some others i will wirte the next days (but is's a bit hard to write a defintion file without having a car to test it, but i simply will write them, post it as a Beta-Version, and you will test it)

Is it possible to make software updatable
what exactly you mean? the TunerPro? the ads files? or maybe the flash-memory in the PCM?

to read/write the flash is possible - but since there is the risk to kill the PCM, i didn't tried it yet - if i can get a old/damaged PCM on ebay, i will play a bit around with that stuff

here are the up to date files:

1991-93 Cadillac STS with 4.9L L26 (not Northstar) (ALDL 8192):
http://www.lnoperformance.de/files/ads/16132240_91-93_L26_8192.ads (Beta 0.3)

1994-95 Cadillac STS with 4.9L L26 (not Northstar) (ALDL 8192):
http://www.lnoperformance.de/files/ads/16196347_94-95_L26_8192.ads (Beta 0.1)

at the Northstar's i'm working, but for them i'm waiting for some additional features in the TunerPro edition mask, but i hope i will get them soon in a new TunerPro version

what else cars/years could be needed by anyone of you?

This is a pretty old post but the forum wont let me email or private message this guy so I am going to send a post.

Hey LittleNo,

Have you still been working with this ECM? I am interested in using it with my Cadillac 472. I had a few questions and needed some of your opinions on some things with the swap. If you recieve this could you please reply to this post and we can go from there? Thanks - Justin
