I have had my escalade for a few months and the exhaust finally got to me. I decided to buy some U and J bends and 4 feet of stainless and started hacking away. You should have seen my wifes face. "wow, I thought you were'nt going to touch this one" was the response as she laughed.

The parts cost me around 180.00 total (jegs) and a good 4 hours of design and fabrication. The result (my opinion) is a true custom dual exhaust that looks great. I had the ehaust tips from my last SUV (don't ask, lets just say the 6.0 could not handle the supercharger) and used factory mount points so no drilling or welding to the frame.

Feel free to praise or hate the work. I just could not see spending 2000.00 at a local shop.- I would be happy to give a list of parts or walk anyone through the job. if you live close I don't mind installing it-

I think it looks damn good. How does it sound? Does it dramatically increase noise inside the cabin? Get another pic of those tips in the sunlight....I wanna see them better. I think the tips look really good. It must be pretty satisfying knowing you did it all yourself. Nice work.

Looks good, I just had a customer in an Escalade stop over, he had long tube headers installed that he wanted to show me, and he had a exhaust shop bend him pipes (duals) and SS Borla mufflers, and two tail pipes out each side, Corsa looking exhaust tips, he said minus the long tubes he paid $900.00 (cash) to the shop, the shop is fairly close to me and I am going to talk to them next week. :)

Thanks for the kind words- There is no sound difference inside. It is a tad bit louder than stock but only from outside the vehicle, but I think that has to do with the tips. There is not change inside for noise. I am definitely happy with the exhaust. I love the mandrel bends and the tips. I got the tips from Spintech (http://www.spintechmufflers.com/spintech/showpics.asp?cat=2) (link shows picture) they are 3" stainless oval turndowns. If I had to do it again I would not change anything. I saved 1000.00 doing it myself and I was able to use the mandrel pipe. Most shops around here use those cheap crimping machines or charge big money because of the caddy emblems- I will get some more pics when the sun comes out. (raining currently)

Yeah, the exhaust looks nice, it's looks like you have a nice setup in your garage. Good job.

I'd like to hear a little about that sweet little '69 Camaro you've got in there. From the limited view it looks very nice.
Is it a car that you've had for a while?
Did you restore it or is it original?

Where do you live RIESCALADE? I wouldn't mind doing that like you, I'd probably go with nice round chrome tips. Can you upload another pic of the rear, I'm having trouble seeing the tips? Thanks

The camaro is a 69 z28. I have an original tranny and engine block in storage. I have had the car for only 2 years the previous owner was the original. I drive it all the time so I put in a 5 speed tranny and a stock 350 camaro motor. It's has about 290 hp, but I can run 87 and get 18-19mpg!! I have pics at http://www.bentickner.com/camaro/index.htm The car was in rough shape but it came with boxes and boxes of NOS parts and sheet metal. It only took a month to assemble to present status. I painted the stripes and did all the electrical and glass, interior, lights grill etc etc etc. It never ends-

It is still raining like crazy, I will try and take a better picture of the tips soon-
