I test fitted my 26" Dub Esinem floaters and they fit fine in the back but up front they rub on the inner wheel well plastic. When turning left, on the left front it rubs right where the e-brake line is behind the plastic. I think if I can move that plastic back .5-1" I should be alright, except that damn ebrake line is right behind it. So I need to relocate it or something. It's not on the right side, so that should be okay.

Does anyone have any advice for getting these 26's to fit or advice on how to relocate the ebrake line?

Tom

Have no advice, but would love to know how rough the ride is once you get them on? Just having 22's change the ride quite a bit. Couldn't imagine 26's.

My wheels/tires rubbed same spot, took EXT to Martin Cadillac
in NJ and they "fixed" it. They do this stuff all the time.
Perfect now.

Frankie, can you tell me what 'fixed' it means? Did they re-route the brake line or remove all the plastic. Any chance you can get some pics of the 'fix'? Problem is, here in WA, no one has 26's. So i'm like a pioneer, no custom shops have ever tried this that I've found in my area.

26's will ride just fine. I've had 22's before and they are no different than stock, other than a little wheel shake at 65mph. It cracks me up when people get all concerned over the ride of big rims, potholes, if they'll last, etc. It's all a myth. Don't curb them and you'll think you're just skating on stockers.

:cookoo: there is definitely a difference, you may not notice it, but others do...

Will take some pics and ask them what they did. My wheels
are only 22' but because they were 10s they rubbed on
back of front wheel wells and on top of wells on bumps.
They definitely carved some plastic out.

Hey tom, I got some 24" dub bellagios and they rubbed but cadillac fixed it for me no problem...just cut out the plastic where its rubbing, keep cutting a little bit at a time until you see that its not touching anymore...the line wont get hit from the rim, so no worries there, all you have to do is clip it a little at a time and u may also want to clip the front bumper corners to keep it from rubbing...

That plastic is very thin, I don't see how cutting it will stop it from rubbing. It needs to be pulled back an 1" if possible to give a little extra room. I think it can be done, but again that damn ebrake line needs to be moved. These are 10" wide rims by the way. I'm just wondering what other people with 26's do. I'm certainly not the first to have this problem. How many people on this forum have Escalades with 26's?

When I bought my cadillac from bellevue they fixed the rubbing problem with my 24's. I do not know if it was as extensive as yours but they can fix it there.

I can do the work, I'm just looking for real life examples with details of how the problem can be fixed.

Steve, do you have any pics of what you trimmed? How much of the inner fender plastic were you able to trim? Why'd you trim your bumpers, I didnt see that being a problem. Doesn't it look like shit cutting that finished plastic?

if its an awd, you can just crank the torsion bars a lil and get an alignment.

I tested fitted the front again and this time I released the ebrake line and removed all the plastic and it doesn't rub at all. It's still CLOSE, but would only rub if I hit a big bump. I think I will reroute the ebrake line out of the way, cut part of the inner wheel well plastic out of the way, trim the inner fender plastic, and zip tie the inner wheel well plastic back and also the washer fluid tank forward and it should be alright.

I'm hoping to get all four on tomorrow. I'll post pics if it works out.

your doing entirly too much work for nothing...all you have to do is cut the plastic and trim the corners of the bumpers...its simple...there is no need to move the washer fluid or e brake line....just trim the plastic and you will see that its fine...

Its not that much work. I'm zip tieing the washer tank forward, takes 30 seconds. Rerouting the ebrake line (already done) took 15 minutes to unhook/reroute. But i'm not trimming my bumper at all. I imagine cutting into the finished plastic will make it look like shit. You did that and it didnt mess it all up?
