I would never be seen in the city with a Bra on my STS, but the bugs are bad on the highway... Has anyone seen a bra for the 2K5 STS? :worship: Thanks in advance!

(I hear you about the bugs)
Not only are they ugly as sin, they trap dirt and end up scratchin up the paintjob....go topless!

Hi Tom
I agree with powerglide. You do not want to put a bra on your car. From experience (thank god it was only a subaru) they scratch the vehicle. Even when they fit properly dirt and pebles somehow find their way underneath!
What you need is a fabric bug screen to go over the front nose. Somthing like this:http://doityourself.com/store/6957864.htm. Put it on when needed take it off for city! Good luck.

How do these attach? It seems like that they would also scratch the paint if they blow around against the front of the car ...

I think scratches and dings look better than a tacky bra. They occur in the normal course of using a car and reflect nothing on the character of the owner.

Exactly.
Just normal wear, wont decreas your resale value (not much if any)
...frequent trips to the car wash is all she needs.

I wouldnt be caught dead drivin around with anything like a bra......a mansierre maybe :-)

I think its actually called the BRO... They do sell a clean plastic sheeting that you can put over the front, that is almost seemless. Plus is UV coated so that it will not yellow.

There's a product from 3-M (Lumar Clear Bra) that looks invisible from a few feet away, can be removed without trashing the paint and really works well for minimizing those inevitable chips to your front end. As a rule, they are professionally applied (a few hundred bucks) but can be done by a patient DIY in a few hours if the outside temp is above 60. I haven't seen it for the STS yet, but that doesn't mean it isn't available. Hope this helps!

As unsightly as they seem, they offer great protection for the highway miles. I just traded my 03 CTS with 74,000 highway miles. I ran an after market bra through winters and road trips (regular detail with Zaino). Through the winter months, I rarely removed it and ran through automatic washes. Very little scuff from bra, no road rash from stones.

With my highway miles, I had to repaint the front end of another vehicle because the sand blast effect of narrow highways with the "New Jersey" barriers - PA turnpike (and it was traded at 84,000 at two and half years old).
I have checked every where for an STS bra. Nodody is making one yet. According to Ken at carbras.com, he should have one for the STS in about 60 days. His CTS bra was far superior to the GM factory style. I had two GM bra's which ripped almost immediately. I also recommend clear lense cover from autotrim.com to protect the front light lenses (including the driving lights).
