There are a lot of good things about an 00-01 catera versus the earlier years...

This post has to do with NOT buying 97-98's and you can see some of the problems Cateras could have... but this usually pertains to the years specified: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11719

Welcome aboard mphmoto... !
I think you will find this a very excellent group! Very knowledgable & experienced.
They have saved alot of ca$h for us Cat. owners..
I bought my 2001 Catera after reading all the challenges the earlier model owners
had here in the feeds... I have had a few minor issues with the Crankcase location detection sensor, but overall I Love driving this car.It is a dream on the off ramps.
Just read the posts & you can see as was stated by Jeff above.
Good luck & look fwd. to reading your posts after you purchase
I have a 2000 and love it... except in the snow. :) The only major problems I have had with it is I had to put new tie-rod ends on it when I went to replace the brakes. Other than that it is great.
