I noticed that only half of my brake lights illuminate when i step on the brake. After thumping the strip brake lights, sometimes it all light up. Is this repairable? I mean, is it just a loose connection somewhere, perhaps a good soldering will solve? Has anyone had this experience. How about replacement? Are they even available online?

Talk to Logandiagnostic on the forums here...He rebuilds and replaces lights like the Catera's.

You can test the various plugs by applying 12V to them. Use a battery charger or even jumper cables from the battery.

Well, i tried to edit the title but i was only able to edit the message body. So i just left it at that. I guess you didn't read the post, just the title.

And about the strip light on top of the back compartment, i tried to remove it but after i did, i found out that it's a sealed type and there is no way i can get inside it unless i break something. I guess, i'll just have to let it be for now, until the time i buy a new one.

thanks for fixing it Jeff. I haven't contacted Logan yet, i'll get in touch with them as soon as i can. So far, I have tried re-assembling the strip light back and tighten the screws a little and it seems to be holding. The only problem is that occassionally, when tapped, the lights will again only have half way illuminated. I am trying to budget my expenses on this car to the most necessary to the least. I still am solving the Secondary Air Injection error code. I have ordered some replacement parts and hopefully it works. Thanks again Jeff.

Guess what? I decided to give it a go, I mean, rebuilt the strip brake light myself. And I am glad i did. I saved myself another $110. Luckily, only the wires that connects the three board together are loose. I soldered them anew and voila! I contacted Logandiagnostics and they quoted me that price for the Catera's strip brake lights. And it made me think, if they are just rebuilding it, then why don't i try it myself. If i break anything beyond repair then i will go and buy one from them. It paid off, I am just sealing the assembly as of this writing and four more hours and i will assemble it back. Thanks Jeff.
