When I picked up my black V the dealer had already put his cheesy nameplate on the left side of the trunk, above the slanting V. How can I remove it without damaging the paint? Its a real visible spot.

A saw another V with a Corvette LS6 emblem in place of the V on the trunk. Were some made that way? Or did the owner put it on?

I use wd40 to get the stickers off myself, somebody else might have something better.Thats what I use though. The emblem you saw came from car motorsports, nice piece!!!Got one but I put mine on right side where cts emblems (were).Left the v alone on left side.

Dealers who mar our automobiles with crappy marketing badges should be put to death. :gun2::devillaug

(Anybody who doesn't agree with me should be put to death!)

Heat it up with a hair dryer and peel it off if it is a sticker, if it is a plastic emblem with double sided tape, run a piece of dental floss under it after it is heated and then use a liquid wax to remove the residue. I use Zaino. The LS-6 emblems are an after market item as stated above. The quality is supposed to be very good. They are about $59 as I recall.

On every car I have ever ordered I’ve insisted that no permanent dealer emblems be applied (license plate frames OK- removable). If I’ve bought from in-stock with existing logos, I’ve made the dealer remove the “free advertisement”. Total superfluous clutter.

BTW, I had the dealer remove the pinstripes they applied when my V arrived to the dealership—blasphemy!

Its the plastic one with the double sided tape. Any tips on knowing how much to heat the plastic and metal? I don't want to blister the paint.

Thank you all for your help.

No heat needed... take a long piece of dental floss and use it to separate the plastic badge from the car... this will leave a lot of the sticky crap on the car, that's ok. Get some GOO GONE, and spray a liberaly on the remaining tape and let it soak in. Carefully using your nail, start taking away the tape using plenty GOO GONE. Once done, should take around 20 mintues... get a good cleaner, like Meguiar's #6 or similar. The put wax on it and you never know it was there.

Heating it with a hair dryer only softens the tape to make it easier. You will not hurt the paint. I doesn't get that hot. Try it with out heating if you are that worried about it.
