the intake manifold has an aluminum cover
then there is a waffer that channels the electric wiring
(i think for the injectors) someone has removed this at one time
and the gasket is compromised on the one side for sure
and the bottom side i think what effect would this
have on the engine

The "waffer" is the fuel rail. It is expensive $$$ to replace.

A leak at the top cover is a vacuum leak. A small leak will possibly whistle and suck in small dust particles; which is bad for the engine. A larger leak will make more noise and upset the air/fuel metering to the engine.

If the fuel rail damage is only to the silicone seal, you can carefully clean the fuel rail with spray brake cleaner to remove all oil residue. Then apply a small amount of silicone gasket sealer to the damaged area. Be sure the silicone sealer states that it is safe to be used for cars with oxygen sensors.

george is it ok to lift off the fuel rail it seems to be stuck on the drivers side
