While watching Speed Channel or something this weekend, they went to Texas to see the GM plant in Arlington. Suburbans and Escalades are built by the same people? Same Plant? The showed a new Escalde rolling right with the Suburban...

Mine was born in Texas also. I think there is another factory in Mexico. I believe I have seen a sticker on a door of someones Escalade saying Born in Mexico and I found it funny. I also find it interesting that Surburbans are made at the same plant.

Funny thing is the EXT and Avalanche are from a little south of that... Assembled in Mexico.

If your VIN starts with a 1 it was built in the USA, if it starts with a 3 it was built in Mexico.

what made you think GM would have completely different factories for two trucks that only have minor differences (basically bolt on items)?

As said before, the Escalade is born in Arlington, Texas like my 03, the ESV and EXT (like my 05) are born in the GM plant in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico.
