View Full Version : Buy a V that has had the read replaced apopple 05-06-05, 07:45 PM I already own one V and have had a few isues with it, but overall I LOVE THIS CAR--So did my wife and she has taken it (yes the women ALWAYS wear the pants --eventually).
I am looking at a 2005 V, 4,119 miles wiht a 6 year 100K warranty that has had the rear replaced -- see email below.
This CTS-V was originally purchased in Indianapolis on 09/18-2004.The Certified Warranty goes until 09/18/2010 or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first. GM shows that the Carrier Assembly (Complete) - Rear Differential was replaced at 668 miles on 09/29/2004. The paint is in excellent condition. Our internet price is a discounted price.
I need some opinions on this one--knowing what you know, you you pursue?? Pricing is $43,995 (before negotiations)
I need the wisdom of this board. I am also looking at a 2005 Vette.
Thanks
AP Dave's V 05-06-05, 07:48 PM For $43k you can get a new 2004 V for that price. It is a little high if anything, especially since it is used and not a demo. apopple 05-06-05, 07:50 PM Dale, do you mean a 2005 new?? Dave's V 05-06-05, 07:53 PM Dale, do you mean a 2005 new??
No! I mean a 2004 V new. There was one here in Utah for $45k before you negotiate.
Someone also mentioned great deals on new 2005 Vs $7k off MSRP in Palmdale, CA.
I have seen numerous people mention a new 05 V is around $47k. I got mine for around $49k back in March. Not many Vs up here in Utah to bargain shop. apopple 05-06-05, 07:56 PM I also found one with 3,618 miles for 45,500 with 6 yr 100K warranty (red)--may be a more reasonable deal, PLUS I avoid the gas guzzler tax! DansCTSV 05-06-05, 08:21 PM The red ones are fastest! Try Chesrown Cadillac in Ohio...great dealer...best prices...super service...deal with Dave, Jr or Chad Dhesrown directly.

Many others as well for less $. :bouncy::dance::banana::spin::littlewes:gnome::exc ited::wave: lawfive 05-06-05, 11:58 PM Edit: taking my prayer to a higher thread. Lawfive that was nice were did you put it? Dave's V 05-07-05, 12:03 AM Everyone knows platinum Vs are faster. Owners of the other colors are in denial. Wesley Snipes was right. Always bet on BLACK. VMACHYN 05-16-05, 01:12 PM For reference, I purchased my Black 2004 V on 4/16/05 with approx. 240 test miles for $42K OTD. Dealer was in Jackson, MI and wanted to make the sale. A good deal for both.
Also for reference, with regard to what is the fastest color, if you consider ALL OTHER VARIABLES AS EQUAL, it HAS to be Black. The Platinum, RedLine and Stealth Gray all contain the metal/mica particles to create the paint "flop" that is present in all metalic coatings. This makes these vehicles heavier than the Black V's. Also, you generally need a higher base coat film build to achieve "hiding" with these colors than with Black - again increasing the weight. Finally, the metallics can easily mask the presence of surface contamination (dirt, road film, brake dust, etc.) which not only adds weight, but creates drag as well. And as we ALL know and agree, Black cars are the only ones that can signal that they are truely and absolutly CLEAN, cuz if it isn't it looks like crap. So, a CLEAN Black V will always accellerate faster due to less mass, and will be faster at speed due to a lower drag coefficient, than ANY of the other colors, ALL OTHER VARIABLES BEING EQUAL!!! This CAN NOT be disputed. Dave's V 05-16-05, 01:24 PM The other 3 cars collect dirt a lot easier, which makes them less aerodynamic and heavier. Platinum Vs always look clean making them faster.
I told you the owners of other colors are in denial. Dr. Matthew Segal 06-15-05, 09:27 PM take over my lease on a 2004 for 835/month 24 payments left then give it back to GMAC. immaculate 13k pampered garaged doctors toy jteolis 06-15-05, 09:33 PM There was an 04 V with 12K miles 6 months ago for 39995. The 100K warranty is worth $1000. I;d say if you can get it for something under 40K that would be a decent price, with the 100K warranty BowenCT 06-15-05, 09:35 PM doctors toy

I'm at PRMC in Salisbury (Eastern Shore MD, near Ocean City). We send people over to GWU or Georgetown, or Wash Hosp Ctr occasionally. Are you in any of those places? What's your specialty?
Would definitely refer to another V owner, but only if his/her car is silver, like mine. SilverBullet 06-16-05, 11:27 PM I'm at PRMC in Salisbury (Eastern Shore MD, near Ocean City). Is there any other color than silver?? It IS the fastest color after all. The extra speed has to do with the metal flake and its interaction with the Earth's magnetic field.
I am an ENT specialist and I DO operate at Georgetown. In private practice in DC and MD. BowenCT 06-16-05, 11:38 PM I am an ENT specialist and I DO operate at Georgetown. In private practice in DC and MD.
Do you use PENTAX or Olympus ENT scopes............or possibly both since you practice in several facilities..........??? SilverBullet 06-16-05, 11:50 PM I have used Pentax but it seems like there are far more Olympus scopes around. Flexible scopes, that is. I like Storz rigid scopes.
Why do you ask? I use an Olympus/OPELCO scope, but it's a microscope.... BowenCT 06-16-05, 11:57 PM I have used Pentax but it seems like there are far more Olympus scopes around. Flexible scopes, that is. I like Storz rigid scopes.
