I am not sure if this was brought up already or not... but....

I have been (or was) a supporting member for quite a while now, I paid my $5/month ($60/year) to be a supporting member.... the only thing that I really liked from it was that I could actually have a signature, with a picture of my car, my name, or whatever else I wanted (which, BTW on *EVERY* other internet forum I go to has signatures included for free....) The extra space (4mb... woo hoo) for pictures was nice, but our system of posting pictures is rather annoying... but in any case... I paid it, in fact for the last 2 months, since money is tight for me now, I was going to think about asking Sal if there was a way we could pay less then the $5/month, and only get the features that we want (in my case, the sig)

So a few days ago I get the e-mail saying my monthly supporting member thing is about to end.... ready to give up another 5 bucks... I click the link and go thru the process.... except something changed....

Supporting member for 1 month is now $10.... 10 bucks? that is $120 a year.. I pay $13/month for my XM radio, and now supporting member is $10?

Not to mention this place is LOADED with ads and all the supporting vendor stuff.... In either case, I am sad to say I will no longer be a supporting member. That is my $5/month lost, maybe someone else will make up for it now. I do not have my signature and all that jazz, but I will live without.

My friend signed up on a Toyota Tundra forum, he was telling me how normal use is free, but he had to pay $50/year (maybe it was even $25/yr... don't remember) to gain some extra features, such as all the owners manuals and service manuals published on the website for use any time anlong with some other things.... at the time I thought $50/year was alot for that, until I realized I was paying $60/yr just for my sig and some more picture space and whatnot....

Yet I also belong to a Pontiac Grand Am site, the owners refuse to take any money from members even to donate. there are only 2 small banner ads at the top of the site (which are new) and that is it. Everyone gets signatures, unlimited picture uploading and a host of other features I thought were normal... until I had to pay for it here.

I dunno.. for me atleast, it isn't a matter of "only $5/month more" it is the fact that I thought 5 bucks a month was too much to begin with, now this just throws it way over the top for me.

I am now $5/month more wealthy.......

This is what happens when you hand the responsibility to somebody else (non-member/admin). The member fees weren't supposed to go up at all.. The vendor fees, however, have. We need to move to the next level regarding server performance and upgrades... I'm setting the "member" prices back to the way they are supposed to be.. Sorry for the inconvenience...

Great. If you find anymore stuff like this around, which I don't think you will, please let me know. I'm editing that right now...
