What about FIKSE racing wheels compared to HRE?
I love the 20's i have now.. but i do not think FISKE makes 20's (look below)

later blitzer BliTzer 05-06-05, 03:48 AM I am pretty sur that FIKSE does not mak 20's in those above that i want...
But really, if you had the choice, which ones.
later blitzer StealthV 05-06-05, 08:03 AM The HRE wheel in the photo has a chrome lip with what looks like a polished aluminum center 5-spoke section. HRE will also powdercoat any color you want for the 5-spoke section and IIRC it is also available in chrome if you must have the bling. That HRE wheel, in full chrome, on your car - I would give it
Fiske and HRE are both upper echelon wheel crafters. From that perspective, I'd choose wheels based on visual preference. i would go hre or avus. Im waiting to get mine back. Then im going 245 40 19
I have a platinum V, so i dont think all chrome is the way to go. Matching my paint code for the center and a chrome lip, bad ass.... DrivingAmericanNow 05-06-05, 08:56 AM Fikse makes a terrific product and they're great to work with. I've got a set of their FM-10's on my Lotus and when I decided I'd gone too wide on the rears, they were able to "resize" them for me. (they're modular) Very happy with Fikse.
Judging purely on looks of the two wheels you've chosen though, I'd definately go with the HRE's. That's one nice design! Good luck. 2004CTSVRAVEN 05-06-05, 09:15 AM One more vote for HRE! I ordered a set with black centers to match my Raven paint.
C lasstss 05-06-05, 09:43 AM I dont think you can get the new Rolled lip on a Fiske wheel and they are really expensive. Not all wheel manufacturers are using the rolled lip hoop. The HRE's in chrome with the Raven Black would be neat. Price?? I think the FIKSE wheel looks too much like the Impala SS wheels... urbanski 05-06-05, 01:14 PM The HRE's in chrome with the Raven Black would be neat. Price??

Weight difference for one,...45 degree angles, no 90's. Better forgeing process. Hre's do look good, we have a black XLR with black HRE's, as well as the same color combo on an STS in our showroom. CTS-VPaco 05-06-05, 02:27 PM Those are some nice rims, but I really don't like the look of that particular Fikse. CCW makes a similar wheel and offers alot of options to tailor them to your preference. I personally bought iForged Aeros, black with a polished lip.
http://www.iforged.com/images/aero.jpg Fikse has the Classic and Profil lines. They use different rim halves with a different shape, but I'm not sure if the lip is different. I have a set of the Classic FM 5's in 18x9 and 18x10.5 with 255x40-18 and 295x35-18 on my '71 Buick GS and they have been great. I checked on a lot of the wheels before going with Fikse. I think they were less expensive than the HRE's for the same finish and size. Fikse has different finishes on his wheels also http://fikse.com/finishes.html. When I spoke to Jim they actually have more finish options available than what are listed. Both HRE and Fikse are very nice wheels and it comes down to preference. I'm very pleased with mine and the fact that they can be changed down the road or repaired if needed without as much expense. I will be happy to send pictures for those that want to see the tire/wheel combination.
Mickey I ordered the Fikse FM-10's for the Porsche (based upon weight). My understanding is that Fikse typically makes a 3 piece wheel. Outer rim half, inner rim half and center. They combine those pieces to make any wheel width and offset. JamesN. 05-06-05, 09:27 PM Fikse is definitely a stronger wheel than the HRE. I have rarely, if ever, seen a bent Fikse wheel from street driving, whereas I have seen numerous HREs with minor bends. Having said that, HREs are still very strong wheels in comparison to 95 percent of other manufacturers.
If you are a fan of the polished/chrome look, you should check out John Purner's CC Wheels. Their 19s are very affordable, and weigh under 25 lbs per wheels.
