I called the people who do all the electronics for gm. They recomended to install the eclipse in. I was told that it fits perfect and all steering controls work the same. They told me that this was the best way to go and that the eclipse is an excellent product. (view movies, play vidio games, great navigation etc...) The only problem was that they wanted $4000.00 canadian for it. To rich for my blood right know. Will buy from ebay when im ready and get them to intall it for a couple hundred bucks. Anyway's that's what they tell me, he sounded like he new was he was talking about! fast66 05-05-05, 11:51 PM will the ECLIPSE AVN2454 fit in the new escalades? suckit 05-06-05, 05:50 PM Yes it will, PERFECTLY. I want to install an Eclipse Headunit, but I want to find out from anyone of their experiences... The dimensions do not really match up too well and a local shop said they wouldn't do it. I wanted to do the same thing.... I don't know if this helps.. You could get a 1 den indash flip-up monitor with 7' screen, then install a pre-amp in the 1/2 space below the headunit. I think it looks good, just a thought though. fast66 05-28-05, 05:56 PM I have an 02 and a local stereo shop told me that I have a den and 1/2. Hope this helps you all. I wanted to do the same thing.... SO on a 02 with having only a din and 1/2...the AVN2454 won't fit? jordan00escalade 05-28-05, 07:35 PM SO on a 02 with having only a din and 1/2...the AVN2454 won't fit? It would fit, but you would have to have some comestic altercations. (cutting of the dash) They are going to charge a little more if you have a 1 & 1/2 den space, and want to place a 2 den monitor in the slot. I bought a Kenwood double din DD-X7015 for it, but when i took to the profesionals to get it install they said it will not fit. They told i have to buy the whole front console with the opening for a double din. Does any have sugestions or solutions for my problem? suckit 12-12-05, 05:58 PM Hi everybody: I have a 2002 cadillac escalade. I got double din for 02 also... my shop is trimming the plastic trim. Not that hard. demjjm 12-12-05, 06:27 PM An 02 has a 1 1/2 din space. A 2 din receiver requires dash mods. I kept my stock head unit and CD changer, when I did audio, this allowed the steering wheel controls and the rear audio to remain intact. There may now be interfaces for this problem, but there were none available when I did mine. My system sounds great, with the stock head unit. I have not made a final decision on video as of yet, but I will obviously move in a direction other than the dash. I am thinking about doing both front visors, the 2 headrests for the second row, and then a single drop down for the 3rd row. Sinisterj 12-14-05, 05:23 PM Here is the kenwood DDX8017 installed in my 05. Steering wheel controls work fine with adapter. Awesome Nav I researched alot and decided it was the best choice. yeah, da 05 is a perfect fit since it's already double-din. What you pay for the install bro? My install should be done today, got an Eclipse AVN 5435 double-din custom fitted in an 02. We'll c how it turns out. I'm paying about $350 for install, that includes steering wheel interface, bose bypass interface, fabrication of the trim, and an extended 2 year warranty on unit for authorized dealer install. what yall think? I'll post pics once I get my ride back. Sinisterj 12-14-05, 09:02 PM I installed it myself :) skides1 12-19-05, 08:43 PM Sinster, that has to be the cleanest install I've seen for the lade. The 05's went to a double din? If so GM shoulda done that a decade ago. A din and a 1/2 wtf is that? I didn't take the time- do you have the Bose module? If so and it sounds great with Onstar funcionality, plus fact changer, you da man. The fold out din navi looks cheap. ccleve76 12-19-05, 11:42 PM here is a picture of my avn5435 installed, man i love this head unit, had factory navi at first this is way better, plus i can watch dvd's vietfob714 12-20-05, 12:55 AM What dash kit did you use for the eclipse? suckit 12-20-05, 03:48 AM here is a picture of my avn5435 installed, man i love this head unit, had factory navi at first this is way better, plus i can watch dvd's dats real clean, wish mine looked that good.
