I took my car to the dealer with a service stability sys.error on the dash. They hooked it up and determined there was an intermittent problem.I was thinking that it may be loose wires as I drove my car in a really bad snowstorm the night before the error first occured. Does anyone know the location of the Electronic Brake Control Module in a 99 DeVille? I'd like to know if it's just loose wires or corroded contacts before I shell out 525.00 + labor.Hopefully it's an easy fix...... Thanks:hmm:

Press off and warmer on the a/c control and post the error codes you see that start with TCS, we can start from there. While you are in there choose Clear Codes after writing them down and see if they come back.

The EBTCM is just under the air intake hose to the right of the transmission fill.

I've had the same issue with the "service stability system" message. When the car was under warrenty I took it back to the dealers 5 different times. He replaced sensors, relays, cables, etc, etc over a period of two years. The problem was never completely fixed, but it isn't as frequent as before. Sometimes I'd get the message just sitting in the driveway!

What I'm trying to say is you may shell out $525 and it might not do any good!

Hope you have better luck than I did. Now I just live with it. The message resets and goes away when you turn off and restart the engine.
