HELP!
I have a 1992 DeVille. Recently while installing a new head liner with the doors open and radio on, the battery went dead. Took it out and charged it, then re installed. Now car will not start! This happened once before when I put a new battery in it and a friend of mine re programed the security system by locking a door and going through a few steps in the car, think something to do with climate control and brake or gass, it started rught away. He has moved, cannnot reach him. It cranks, fires once or twice and stops. Tere is a smell of fuel after this happens so it is ignition being shut down.

Anyone know how to reset one of these computers or disable the security system? , CORAL CADILLAC in Pompano Beach Florida does not have a clue!

I don't think you have to do anything. Do you have some sort of aftermarket alarm on it? Maybe that's what's making it do it.

Nothing after market on the car. This happened once before when we did a battery replacement. The security light comes on and the engine will not start. Two Cadillac repair departments have said that they knew something had to be done but did not know what. If this had not happened before I would say that the ignition switch or ignition module in the distributor was bad but this is not the first time. :confused:
