When I first take off in my 92 deville when I press hard on the gas the speedo jumps up and down and the car jerks a little. The red charge light flashes after acouple seconds the car is just fine. What could it be?

It just needed a need dist., cap and coil. I had just replaced the plugs and plug wires.

I would also check the battery cables and terminals carefully. Check the terminals where they attach to the wires and look at the cables carefully for signs of corrosion inside the wire (like puffy looking insulation). Check the ground connection of the negative cable to the engine and chassis. What you describe could also be caused by battery cables and if you disconnected the batter to do the tuneup it might have "fixed" the cable for awhile.

I know it was the dist and cap and coil. When I took off that Dist. The whole inside had about a 1 and half inch hole in it. It even went into the coil alittle bit. Does a wonderful pos. traction burn out now.
