I just saw some cheap O2 sensors from Autoparts giant, and there are several brands that they catalog as compatible with the Catera. There was one about less than $60.00 and I was wondering if they would really be okay for use with our car. Someone told me that O2 sensors are all but the same doing the same function. How true is this? Can i just go and buy the cheapest sensor i find and not worry about any problem arising? With prices of parts so high, I will do anything to get the cheapest i can.

The deal with the catera is it has wideband, self heating, air-fuel feedback oxygen sensors which are naturally expensive.

At rockauto.com for example, you can get Bosch o2 sensors for $83 ea. Just make sure you know which o2 sensor to replace and buy the one for the proper location , after cat or before the catalytic converter.

So it means that it's gotta be a Bosch O2 sensor then. thanks
