Playdrv4me 04-23-05, 04:52 PM Does anyone know if you can add features to your STS like memory seats and just diffrent options that the dealer offers. I mean the car has a brain and should be able to be programmed? Which year STS is this in reference to, and what exactly do you mean? Your STS does not have seat memories? ScottstsDowns 04-23-05, 11:17 PM Well I guess I should of been a bit more informative on my post. I bought a 2005 STS with just the basics, V6, No DVD Nav. I got the Red Line paint job but thats it. NO really big options. Now my question is can I load things like memory seats into my config? Can the dealer do it? Just looking onto it???????? ScottstsDowns 05-23-05, 10:41 PM Anyone know the STS v6 and v8 0-60 times and the quarter mile times. I looked all over and could not find the dam things cmicasa 05-23-05, 11:33 PM Which year STS is this in reference to, and what exactly do you mean? Your STS does not have seat memories? Mine has memory seats. I can adjust the seats, mirrors, heated seats, and climate control, steering colunm. At first I kept getting in the car and almost everytime the damn program would be different. I was pissed and thought about taking it up to dealership, but I read the book and realized that each key fob is programmed to driver 1 or 2. I mean I never even looked on the back of them 2 see that there were two different numbers:eek: wick05 05-24-05, 12:16 AM 1/4 mile times are a little hard to find.. Check like a Motor trend site... 0-60 is listed in the sale brochure... V8 is 5.9, V6 is 7.0. U can add all the features to the vehicle. But expense would be great. To acheive power seat with factory stuff. You would need a new drivers door panel, the memory seat switches, the wiring harness for the switches, a new BCM (well over $1000), and then to have it all reprogrammed. It would be cheaper to trade the car in for a nicer model.. I have seen people try it before, it usually turns out bad. All the parts together would be over $1500, plus the time you would spend or have to pay someone. The car has a brain, but the brain is limited to the VAT programming. But if the parts are not there, then the vehicle can not recongonize the ability to have the programming. The harness could possible be there, because GM is not going to take the time to design and build multipul harness for a vehicle. Putting in a system like the ACC or HUD, would be extremely expensive. But it can be done, anything is possible with the right amount of money. I installed Keyless entry on my Dodge Ram. Was factory $500 for the module and key fobs. The harness was there. Theses new cars run off of a lot of technology. People complain that there ACC is slow to react, theres a lot of tech that goes into that system. 5 years ago no one even dreamed of it. The system run and process so fast now that you have to install a bus between the Tech 2 port and the Tech 2.. Because the car can talk faster than a Tech 2.. He hates technology, but misses keyless. harryctsv 05-26-05, 11:16 AM Hey thanks for the answers........ Hi Scottsts, as I read you`ve bought a red-line STS. Why you didn`t look first to some other equiped models (memory seats, heated seats and steering wheel and on and on)??? I´m german and I know the US dealer-ships has all kind of STS models on their lot to choose from. I replace my 00 DTS with a new STS here in germany within the next three weeks but I buy a loaded one, they call it here "Launch-model" but still don`t know if I take a V6 or the V8. I know the V8 from my XLR but heard many good things about the V6. In the Motor-Trend the tested the V6 - 0- 60 in 6.8 sec - quarter mile 15.0Q91mph. How you like the V6? Thanks Harry | |
