Without warning my car refuses to start. There is no trace of power. Have had battery replaced 3 times. Now the dash and radio reset when the car is turned off. Any help greatfully appreciated.

Methodically shake and test each connection from the battery to the fuse box main power input first, if you suspect the battery is still good. Look for a loose or intermittently contacting connection. Report back after you verify 12 VDC is making it to the power distribution node (the fuse box), and we'll come up with more ideas. Also inspect the electrical lines for abradement of the insulation.

If what ccclarke said doesn't work, Have them test your alternator. It sounds like your batteries weren't getting charged good enough by the alternator.

Thanks,

It turned out to be a really bad positive battery cable. Replaced it and now all is working.

Hi - did you ever get an answer? I have a 97 ETC and am looking at some annoying things going wrong one by one - would like to be a leg up should I encounter this anytime soon.
