I wonder why tail lamps have to be cleared out in Europe :hmm: My god, thats sexy. I really dig the second photo. megeebee 04-22-05, 01:06 AM If I'm not mistaken, those are the wheels from the CTS-V. I like the clear lens tail lamps, and I REALLY like the reflectors on the lower rear bumper facia. But that confusing mess of badges on the deck lid! They look like chrome magnets on a refrigerator door! Playdrv4me 04-22-05, 01:14 AM If I'm not mistaken, those are the wheels from the CTS-V. Im not sure what you mean. The only one that seems out of place to me is whatever is above the Northstar emblem. kingroadie 04-22-05, 01:18 AM 6 lug CTS-V wheels.....boy those would have been nice. then the V brakes would have fit on our cars. harryctsv 04-22-05, 08:27 AM If I'm not mistaken, those are the wheels from the CTS-V. Hi there all,
(IŽm german) yes, the wheels seem to be from the CTS V but in the rear bumber fascia that`s no reflectors. Here in germany every car must have rear red fog light and that`s it! On my XLR it`s integrated in the tail-light.
From the catalog I got here it should have the regular wheels on but IŽll see in the next three weeks when the first cars arrive at the dealer-ships.

The badge above the Northstar emblem is a "Cadillac" script. megeebee 04-22-05, 01:12 PM Hi there all,

Thank you, harryctsv, I didn't know that. Are you considering the purchase of a STS? Playdrv4me 04-22-05, 01:30 PM The badge above the Northstar emblem is a "Cadillac" script.
Yea, that is ugly. It looks like it came out of the dollar store's sticker section :suspect: Its not as if half the civilized world doesnt know what the emblem up on the center stoplight means. Many people outside the U.S. don't know what that emblem means. Cadillac isn't so popular there like MB, BMW and Japanese cars. Even many Americans don't recognize Cadillac by its new look. harryctsv 04-23-05, 01:53 PM Thank you, harryctsv, I didn't know that. Are you considering the purchase of a STS?
Hi megeebee,
yes, I want to replace my 00 DTS with the new STS as soon these cars will be at the dealers. My dealer told me it should be by end this month or may.
I still dont know what engine IŽll take, well I know the Northstar V8 from my XLR and I usually love V8s but I heard and wrote in road tests that there not too much difference between this two engines.
But one thing I know already is the color, you may be surprised:yup:
IŽll get moonstone with cashmere interior. Have you ever seen this combination:histeric: ( I know you have a moonstone)
IŽll let you know when I get it.
Thanks

All cars in Germany (EU?) must have functional rear fogs? Not just reflectors? megeebee 04-23-05, 09:26 PM Hi megeebee,

Good choice Harry! And yes, I have seen this combination. In fact, I drove one for a day. My dealer let me try a STS before the lease on my 2003 CTS expired, and the one they gave me was moonstone and cashmere. It was a V6. I do mostly in-city driving, so a V6 is perfectly adequate. One word of advise about the interior: with the cashmere color get the wood trim. The aluminum looks great with black or black-gray, but I don't think it looks so good with cashmere.
I chose the CTS simply because of its handling, ride, and performance. It's a compact, taut, and very satisfying car. Very light-on-its-feet. The STS is great, but I just love my CTS.
I look forward to reading your post when you get your new car. harryctsv 04-24-05, 06:14 AM All cars in Germany (EU?) must have functional rear fogs? Not just reflectors?
Hi, yes back fog lights, which are much brighter than the the regular lights is a must! Front fog lights not, you can have them or not.
The back fog lights are only allowed to turn on when the sight is below 50 meters.

Hi megeebee,
I test drove the CTS here too last year but it still had the 3.2 liter engine - but was running real good and I think you are right that the handling is better than that of the STS. STS is heavier and larger. But I have to take sometimes 3-4 persons with me so the more room is needed for me.
The wood IŽll take anyhow
Thanks
Harry Many features optional in US models are standard on the European STS (both V6 and V8), such as headlamp washer system, rear spoiler etc. I think the European model is more loaded than the American one. For equipment and pricing details click here:

Rauf, you are absolutely right in anything you post here about europe-models-cadillacs beside one thing. Sure, it shows on the pic that the STS got the CTS V
wheels on but this want be on no regular export model. You can have them with the same 17 or 18 inch wheels as the US-models got on.
IŽll buy one to teplace my 00 DTS as soon the first cars will be at the dealers and let you know what wheels I got on. Withn the rear fog light they did a nice job, looks good. And your prices for these cars are correct.
Hey Rauf, IŽm still waiting on a pic of a black XLR V;)
Have a nice sunday and thanks for your good info.

Hi, Harry. Thank you for your comments. But let me disagree with you on the wheel issue. All the pictures above are official pictures from media.cadillaceurope.com. So, I think that wheels come at least optional with the vehicle.

As I know the DTS is an American model and not available in Europe. Why did you get it instead of the Seville STS, which is Cadillac's top-model there?

I'll post it as soon as I find it!

Hi Rauf, thank you for your answer!!! I got the german catalog and price-list of the new STS and there it shows all extra packages. The wheels which will be available are the same as yours (the U.S.) it`s the 17 alloy wheels, the 17 alloy chrome wheels for the V6 and the 18 chrome wheels for the V8 model. But I will be able to tell you when my dealer get the first cars (should be end this month or may). I`ll let you know!!!
In aug 2000 when I bought my DTS at DeVoe in Naples/fl. the STS was already in his third year and I liked the look of the DTS more. My DTS is such a good car and the only thing I don`t like is the speed limiter at 210 kph (that`s 130 mph). But interior room was much bigger than the STS`s.
Thank you
Harry Windy City 04-26-05, 05:14 PM the euro rear taillights look way better to me than the ones we get here, i think they are like that on the SRX as well. | |
