: 96' Northstar coolant leak

I've got a 96' Eldorado ETC Touring, 4.6 Northstar with a major coolant leak, it leaks out almost as quickly as you pour it in. The general location is on the passenger side of the engine and behind/under the heater core, I do know it's NOT one of the two metal heater lines. The leak is not visible at all from the top, only (barely from the bottom and side if I pull off the tire). I was able to confirm where it was coming from, it was a black, plastic outlet about a .5" diameter, with a 2" ring like wall around it, (not sure if the 2" diameter has anything to do with it). Anyways the outlet is pointed just about straight down, and my main problem is, there is no hose anywhere around and I don't know where it's connected to, if anybody could let me know what that's called and where it connects to, that would be great.
Thank you in advance

-Ronnie

Is this outlet coming out of the firewall?

I don't think so, it's near another rubber coolant hose and a brake line, does that help at all?

If it's near(below) the center of car pointing down thats the evap drain pipe, sounds like heater core is leaking inside and draining out the drain hose for condensation.

That's what I was thinking, but that would be exiting the firewall. But maybe he just can't see the area well.

Yea MC, we need a pic or a better description, just cant think of anything in that area that coolant would be pouring from unless a hose just fell slap off.

I'll try to get a picture in a little bit, also when I found it, I just held my finger over it and has someone else pour water into it, in never leaked from anywhere else and the instant I moved it came pouring out, does that help at all? But like I said I'm going to try to get a decent picture now.

Sounds like the surge tank outlet hose (#3) came off.

I always picture the surge tab on the drivers side, because that's where it is on my car. Yeah, could be that.

This is the best picture I could get but the center of the picture is where it's pouring out.

I think they keep moving them from side to side just to confuse us.

It was working earlier, I couldn't tell what I was looking at, but the plastic piece pictured had something broken off of it.

Well it was the heater core, just "fixed it" today; bypassed it.
