this a possible replacement, used on a GTO/Holden platform It is a hybrid 9 inch ford rear, will probably need some welding to arrange the bearing locations but the hald shafts should work. I think it cost about 3k range but that is in Australian money I wonder what the exchange rate is?

Adapting half shafts is easy. Adapting a complete dif is another story. Probably have to rework the cradle.

Problem is, when these aftermarket guys look at the production numbers
(7500) for 2 years... There aint a whole lot of incentive.

probably will only take moving the bushing locations, this diff is a bolt in on a 2005 GTO

Rick, What's that electric looking motor on the back of the rear?

The electric motor looking widget is the electronic limited slip differential.

Its advantages over a traditional limited slip:

1. Better traction to both wheels
2. Provides additional vehicle stability from the differential yaw dampening effect
2. Easier to integrate with the electronic stability control system

Our Katech contact should be telling us about it... :canttalk:

I don't think it is made of cast iron, I think it is made of unobtainum!
