I found a 92 fleetwood delegance w/ 68K miles on it about an hour away from me. A friend of mine is thinking about buying it. They are asking 4995 at a dealership. He is trading in a 1996 vr6 jetta that is supposed to be worth about the same. Im not sure if it has the 305 or 350 yet. What is she worth??? and is there anything in paticular to look for on it?

If it is a 5.7 liter D'elegance that is fully loaded and in great shape, I have seen them go for $4-6.5K.

Make sure to check the digital cluster, they tend to fail on these cars.

Look for rust in the obvious places like the front doors under the mirrors, fender skirts, and trunk lid bottom.

Make sure the transmission shifts well and has good kick down.

Any smoke upon start up?

Check all the power features, especially the window regulators and seat motors.

A/C cold?

Check the rear fender fillers for cracks and the rubber around the rear license plate area.

Other than that, just check the normal things like tires, suspension, vinyl top, etc etc.

Your friend will really enjoy his, I am on my third (this time a '91) Brougham and this one is by far the best I have owned.

If it means anything I paid 4,300 for a 89 d'Elegance with a 307 but the car is mint. Miles are 73,500
