looks like my ECU doesn't have the VIN # coded either. I ran a search and it seemed like it was an issue in the 2004, but it looks like it applies to the 2005 model as well.

My Predator tuner says on start up that it's for 2004 models... will this be ok for my 05? THe tuning shop that I purchased it from (Brad's Custom Auto in Seattle, WA) said this is the one that comes up for 04 and 05 CTS-V.

Looks like I'll be heading to my dealership to get my ECU reflashed.

Will the predator get rid of skip shift? I was told that it would.

I can't wait!! mmm.. let the modding begin.

I can't answer your questions, but will be very interested in what you find out. Thanks for sharing the info.

Not a flame by any means, but aren't these handheld tuners claiming minimal HP and TQ gains? I seem to recall around 10 or 15? BTW, I can't say too much as I paid $2,250 bucks for exhaust and headers that will supposedly get me 40 horsepower.

whats the difference between this (pred tune) and I think what some people are getting? ...... I think its an ecu tune, or dyno tune, or maybe its ls1 edit or something... I hope Im making sense. Im a newb..

Its problably just a more aggressive tune> They problably lean the fuel out more which is also more dangerous.

As for the exhaust, with just an exhaust header combo you may only pick up 20hp, but as you continue to mad your car their gains grown. If you first installed a supercharger and picked up 80hp, then add the ex/headers, you may pick up 40 or 50hp. The exhauset/headers are one of those things that allow you to run more hp.

Billy Boat claims 40 hp with X-pipe exhaust and headers. They actually send a dyno sheet along with your exhaust. I'd be surprised, though I don't have my headers yet to be able to confirm. I do know that with the Ling' CAI, Homemade TB to MAF pipe and BB X-pipe there was a noticeable pickup from about 3K rpms up. I knew it when the stabilitrak flicked on during a 3rd to 4th shift and I felt a little wiggle. Didn't do that before. All parts are currently off the car except the exhaust, due to my recent trip to the dealer. No sense in risking a warranty denial due to aftermarket. And yes I know about Magnuson Moss.

The Predator tuning claims to 10-15 wheel horsepower. I'll find out soon enough with some dyno numbers. =)

Exhaust and intake are next!

Sweeet! The programmer is pretty badass! Were a diablo dealer, and yes, your going to have the problem with the vin not being stored in the computer. I've done the program on three cars, and i've had to update the vin in all of them.

The 1-4 skip shift issue should be solved.

As far as the power increase, it's not DRAMATIC BUUUUUUUUT, your gonna feel it. Honestly, the car feel more refined, throughout the ENTIRE rpm range. Your gonna like it, alot. One of the cheapiest, most noticeable mods you can do to any modern LS1/LS2/LS6 engine.

Also, the programmers are able to get rid of speed limiters...on most vechicles...:D

Your not gonna go to the moon with any hand held programmer. They simply alter your fuel, timeing tables/curves,....makeing for a more agressive tune.

It's not better then LS1 edit and dyno tuneing......nothing is better then dyno tuneing YOUR CAR, on THAT DAY, ON A DYNO. That said, we did loan Diablosport a CTS-V for about a week, to build a base tune for the V series, which was done on a dyno.

Now i've driven some pretty awesome cars, and it's hard to impress me nowadays BUT, I was impressed with the tune. You Really do notice/feel the difference.

On another note, should you ever do upgrades, you can send it back to them and they can reflash it, with a special tune,......

....or, you can return it back to stock, and sell it to another V owner.
